Sunan an-Nasa'i 1029

Alqamah and Al-Aswad narrated that they were in Abdullah’s (رضي الله تعالى عنه) house and he said, ‘have these people prayed’? We said, ‘yes’. So, he led them in prayer and stood between them, with no Adhan and no Iqamah, and said, ‘if you are three then do this, and if you are more than that then let one of you lead the others in prayer, and let him lay his hands on his thighs. It is as if I can see the fingers of the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), interlaced’.

علقمہ اور اسود سے روایت ہے کہ وہ دونوں عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ کے ساتھ ان کے گھر میں تھے، تو انہوں نے پوچھا: کیا ان لوگوں نے نماز پڑھ لی؟ ہم نے کہا: ہاں! تو انہوں نے بغیر اذان و اقامت کے دونوں کی امامت کی، اور ان دونوں کے درمیان میں کھڑے ہوئے، اور کہنے لگے: جب تم تین ہو تو ایسے ہی کرو، اور جب تم اس سے زیادہ ہو تو تم میں کا ایک شخص تمہاری امامت کرے، اور اپنی دونوں ہتھیلیوں کو اپنی دونوں رانوں پر بچھا لے، گویا میں رسول اللہ ﷺ کی انگلیوں کو ایک دوسرے میں پیوست دیکھ رہا ہوں ۔

Alaqmah aur Aswad se riwayat hai ke woh dono Abdullah bin Masood (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ke sath un ke ghar mein thay, to unhon ne poocha: kya in logon ne namaz padh li? Hum ne kaha: Haan! to unhon ne baghair azaan w iqamat ke dono ki imamat ki, aur in dono ke darmiyan mein khare hue, aur kahne lage: jab tum teen ho to aise hi karo, aur jab tum is se zyada ho to tum mein ka ek shakhs tumhari imamat kare, aur apni dono hathliyon ko apni dono ranoon par bachah le, goya main rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki ungliyon ko ek doosre mein piyust dekh raha hon ۱؎.

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ، وَالأَسْوَدِ، أَنَّهُمَا كَانَا مَعَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ فِي بَيْتِهِ فَقَالَ أَصَلَّى هَؤُلاَءِ قُلْنَا نَعَمْ ‏.‏ فَأَمَّهُمَا وَقَامَ بَيْنَهُمَا بِغَيْرِ أَذَانٍ وَلاَ إِقَامَةٍ ‏.‏ قَالَ إِذَا كُنْتُمْ ثَلاَثَةً فَاصْنَعُوا هَكَذَا وَإِذَا كُنْتُمْ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ فَلْيَؤُمَّكُمْ أَحَدُكُمْ وَلْيَفْرِشْ كَفَّيْهِ عَلَى فَخِذَيْهِ فَكَأَنَّمَا أَنْظُرُ إِلَى اخْتِلاَفِ أَصَابِعِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏.‏

Sunan an-Nasa'i 1030

Alqamah and Al-Aswad narrated that they prayed with Abdullah bin Mas'ud (رضي الله تعالى عنه) in his house. He stood between us and we placed our hands on our knees, but he took them off and made us interlace our fingers and said, ‘I saw the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) do that’.

اسود اور علقمہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم نے عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ کے ساتھ ان کے گھر میں نماز پڑھی، وہ ہمارے درمیان کھڑے ہوئے، ہم نے اپنے ہاتھوں کو اپنے گھٹنوں پر رکھ لیا، تو انہوں نے اسے وہاں سے ہٹا دیا اور ہمارے دونوں ہاتھوں کی انگلیوں کو ایک دوسرے میں پیوست کر دیں، اور کہا: میں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ کو ایسا کرتے دیکھا ہے۔

Aswad aur Alqamah kehte hain ke hum ne Abdillah bin Masood (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ke sath un ke ghar mein namaz parhi, woh hamare darmiyan khare hue, hum ne apne hathon ko apne ghuthon par rakh liya, to unhon ne isay wahan se hata diya aur hamare donon hathon ki ungliyon ko ek doosre mein piyust kar den, aur kaha: main ne Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko aisa karte dekha.

أَخْبَرَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الرِّبَاطِيُّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا عَمْرٌو، - وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي قَيْسٍ - عَنِ الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ، وَعَلْقَمَةَ، قَالاَ صَلَّيْنَا مَعَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ فِي بَيْتِهِ فَقَامَ بَيْنَنَا فَوَضَعْنَا أَيْدِيَنَا عَلَى رُكَبِنَا فَنَزَعَهَا فَخَالَفَ بَيْنَ أَصَابِعِنَا وَقَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَفْعَلُهُ ‏.‏

Sunan an-Nasa'i 1031

Abdullah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) taught them the prayer. He stood up and said the takbir, and when he wanted to bow, he put his hands together and put his hands between his knees and bowed’. News of that reached Sa'd ( رضئ هللاتعالی عنہ) and he said, ‘my brother has spoken the truth. We used to do that, then we were commanded to do this’, meaning to hold the knees.


Grade: Sahih

عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ہمیں نماز سکھائی، آپ کھڑے ہوئے اور آپ نے اللہ اکبر کہا، تو جب آپ نے رکوع کرنا چاہا تو اپنے ہاتھوں کو ملا کر اپنے دونوں گھٹنوں کے بیچ کر لیا، اور رکوع کیا، یہ بات سعد رضی اللہ عنہ کو معلوم ہوئی تو انہوں نے کہا: میرے بھائی نے سچ کہا، ہم پہلے ایسا ہی کرتے تھے، پھر ہمیں اس کا یعنی ہاتھوں سے گھٹنوں کو پکڑنے کا حکم دیا گیا۔

Abdul'lah bin Mas'ud radhiyallahu anhu kehte hain ke Rasulullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne hamen namaz sikhayi, aap kharey hue aur aap ne Allahu Akbar kaha, to jab aap ne rukoo karna chaha to apne hathon ko mila kar apne dono ghutnon ke beech kar liya, aur rukoo kiya, yeh baat Saad radhiyallahu anhu ko maloom hui to unhon ne kaha: mere bhai ne sach kaha, hum pehle aisa hi karte the, phir hamen is ka yani hathon se ghutnon ko pakarne ka hukm diya gaya.

أَخْبَرَنَا نُوحُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ كُلَيْبٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ عَلَّمَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم الصَّلاَةَ فَقَامَ فَكَبَّرَ فَلَمَّا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْكَعَ طَبَّقَ يَدَيْهِ بَيْنَ رُكْبَتَيْهِ وَرَكَعَ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ سَعْدًا فَقَالَ صَدَقَ أَخِي قَدْ كُنَّا نَفْعَلُ هَذَا ثُمَّ أُمِرْنَا بِهَذَا يَعْنِي الإِمْسَاكَ بِالرُّكَبِ ‏.‏
