Chapter: Isbal Al-Izar (Letting the Izar Hang Below the Ankles)

باب إِسْبَالِ الإِزَارِ

Sunan an-Nasa'i 5332

Ash'ath narrated that he heard Sa'eed bin Jubair narrate from Ibn Abbas ( رضي الله تعالى عنه) that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘Allah (جَلَّ ذُو) will not look at the Musbil (the one who lets his Izar come below the ankles).’


Grade: Sahih

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”اللہ تعالیٰ اس شخص کو نہیں دیکھے گا جو ( ٹخنے سے نیچے ) تہبند لٹکاتا ہے“۔

Abdul La bin Abbas Radi Allaho Anhuma se riwayat hai keh Nabi Akram Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam ne farmaya: Allah Ta'ala us shakhs ko nahi dekhe ga jo takhne se neeche tehband latkata hai.

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي جَدِّي، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"‏ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لاَ يَنْظُرُ إِلَى مُسْبِلِ الإِزَارِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Sunan an-Nasa'i 5333

Abu Dharr (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘there are three to whom Allah (جَلَّ ذُو) will not speak on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He sanctify them, and theirs will be a painful torment: (i)the one who reminds others of what he has given them (Al-Mannan), (ii)the one who lets his Izar come below his ankles, and (iii)the one who sells his product by means of false oaths.’


Grade: Sahih

ابوذر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”تین لوگ ہیں، جن سے اللہ تعالیٰ قیامت کے دن بات نہ کرے گا، نہ انہیں ( گناہوں سے ) پاک کرے گا، اور ان کے لیے درد ناک عذاب ہے: کچھ دے کر حد سے زیادہ احسان جتانے والا، ( ٹخنے سے نیچے ) تہبند لٹکانے والا، اور جھوٹی قسم کھا کر اپنا سامان بیچنے والا“۔

Abuzar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: "Teen log hain, jin se Allah Ta'ala Qayamat ke din baat nah karega, nah unhein ( gunaahon se ) paak karega, aur unke liye dardnak azab hai: kuchh de kar had se zyada ehsaan jatane wala, ( takhne se neeche ) tehband latkane wala, aur jhooti qasam kha kar apna saman bechne wala".

أَخْبَرَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنَ مِهْرَانَ الأَعْمَشَ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مُسْهِرٍ، عَنْ خَرَشَةَ بْنِ الْحُرِّ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏ ثَلاَثَةٌ لاَ يُكَلِّمُهُمُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَلاَ يُزَكِّيهِمْ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ الْمَنَّانُ بِمَا أَعْطَى وَالْمُسْبِلُ إِزَارَهُ وَالْمُنَفِّقُ سِلْعَتَهُ بِالْحَلِفِ الْكَاذِبِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Sunan an-Nasa'i 5334

Ibn Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘Al-Isbal may apply to the Izar, the Qamis and the turban. Whoever drags any one of these out of vanity, Allah (جَلَّ ذُو) will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection.’


Grade: Sahih

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”تہبند، قمیص اور پگڑی میں کسی کو بھی کوئی تکبر ( گھمنڈ ) سے لٹکائے تو قیامت کے دن اللہ اس کی طرف نہیں دیکھے گا“ ۔

Abd-ul-lah bin Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a kahte hain ke Rasool-ullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: "Tahband, qamis aur pagri mein kisi ko bhi koi takabbur ( ghumannd ) se latkae to qayamat ke din Allah us ki taraf nahin dekhega"

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ أَبِي رَوَّادٍ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏ الإِسْبَالُ فِي الإِزَارِ وَالْقَمِيصِ وَالْعِمَامَةِ مَنْ جَرَّ مِنْهَا شَيْئًا خُيَلاَءَ لاَ يَنْظُرُ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Sunan an-Nasa'i 5335

Salim narrated from his father that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘whoever drags his garment out of pride, Allah (جَلَّ ذُو) will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection.’ Abu Bakr (رضي الله تعالى عنه) said, ‘O Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), one side of my Izar slips unless I pay attention to it.’ The Prophet ( صلى هللا عليه و آلهم وسل) said, ‘you are not one of those who do that out of pride.’


Grade: Sahih

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”جو اپنا کپڑا تکبر ( گھمنڈ ) سے گھسیٹے گا، قیامت کے دن اللہ تعالیٰ اس کی طرف نہیں دیکھے گا“، ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: اللہ کے رسول! میرے تہبند کا ایک کونا لٹک جاتا ہے، إلا اس کے کہ میں اس کا بہت زیادہ خیال رکھوں، نبی اکرم ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”تم ان لوگوں میں سے نہیں ہو جو تکبر ( گھمنڈ ) کی وجہ سے ایسا کرتے ہیں“۔

Abdul'lah bin Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se riwayat hai ke Rasool'ullah sall'Allahu 'alaihi wa sallam ne farmaya: "Jo apna kapra takabbur ( ghamand ) se ghisayta ga, qiyamat ke din Allah Ta'ala us ki taraf nahin dekhega", Abu Bakr (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne kaha: Allah ke Rasool! Mere tehband ka ek kona latak jata hai, ila is ke ke mein us ka bahut ziyada khyal rakhoon, Nabi'e Akram sall'Allahu 'alaihi wa sallam ne farmaya: "Tum in logoon mein se nahin ho jo takabbur ( ghamand ) ki wajah se aisa karte hain".

أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"‏ مَنْ جَرَّ ثَوْبَهُ مِنَ الْخُيَلاَءِ لاَ يَنْظُرُ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ أَحَدَ شِقَّىْ إِزَارِي يَسْتَرْخِي إِلاَّ أَنْ أَتَعَاهَدَ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُ ‏.‏ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏ إِنَّكَ لَسْتَ مِمَّنْ يَصْنَعُ ذَلِكَ خُيَلاَءَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏
