Chapter: The Virtue Of Prayer During Its Time

باب فَضْلِ الصَّلاَةِ لِمَوَاقِيتِهَا

Sunan an-Nasa'i 610

Al-Walid bin Al'Ayzar said : "I heard Abu 'Amr Ash-Shaibani say : 'The owner of this house - and he pointed to the house of 'Abdullah (رضئ هللا تعالی عنہ) said : I asked the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) : 'Which deed is most beloved to Allah, may He be exalted?' He said : 'Prayer offered on time, honoring one's parents, and Jihad in the cause of Allah.'"

عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ سے پوچھا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ کو کون سا عمل زیادہ محبوب ہے؟ تو آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا:  وقت پر نماز پڑھنا، والدین کے ساتھ حسن سلوک کرنا، اور اللہ کی راہ میں جہاد کرنا  ۔

Abdul-Allah bin Masood (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke main ne Rasool-Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se poocha ke Allah Ta'ala ko kon sa amal zyada mahaboob hai? To aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: Waqt par namaz padhna, walidain ke sath husn-e-sulook karna, aur Allah ki rah mein jihad karna

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ الْعَيْزَارِ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَمْرٍو الشَّيْبَانِيَّ، يَقُولُ حَدَّثَنَا صَاحِبُ، هَذِهِ الدَّارِ وَأَشَارَ إِلَى دَارِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَىُّ الْعَمَلِ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ تَعَالَى قَالَ ‏"‏ الصَّلاَةُ عَلَى وَقْتِهَا وَبِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ وَالْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Sunan an-Nasa'i 611

It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud (رضي الله تعالى عنه) said: "I asked the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) which action is most beloved to Allah? He said : 'Establishing prayer on time, honoring one's parents and Jihad in the cause of Allah.'"


Grade: Sahih

عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ سے پوچھا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ کو کون سا عمل زیادہ محبوب ہے؟ تو آپ نے فرمایا:  نماز کو اس کے وقت پر ادا کرنا، والدین کے ساتھ حسن سلوک کرنا، اور اللہ عزوجل کی راہ میں جہاد کرنا ۔

Abdul'lah bin Mas'ud radiyallahu 'anhu kehte hain ke main ne Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se poochha ke Allahu Ta'ala ko kon sa amal ziada mahaboob hai? To aap ne farmaya: namaz ko us ke waqt par ada karna, walidain ke sath hasan suluk karna, aur Allahu Azzawajal ki rah mein jihad karna.

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ النَّخَعِيُّ، سَمِعَهُ مِنْ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَىُّ الْعَمَلِ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَالَ ‏"‏ إِقَامُ الصَّلاَةِ لِوَقْتِهَا وَبِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ وَالْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Sunan an-Nasa'i 612

It was narrated from Ibrahim bin Muhammad bin Al-Muntashir that his father was in the Masjid of 'Amr bin Shurabil and the Iqamah for prayer was said, so they were waiting for him. He said : "I was praying Witr, and 'Abdullah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) was asked: 'Is there any Witr after the Adhan?' He said: "Yes, and after the Iqamah, and he narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) slept and missed the prayer until the sun rose then prayed.'" And the wording is that of Yahya.

محمد بن منتشر سے روایت ہے کہ وہ عمرو بن شرحبیل کی مسجد میں تھے کہ نماز کی اقامت کہی گئی، تو لوگ ان کا انتظار کرنے لگے  ( جب وہ آئے تو )  انہوں نے کہا: میں وتر پڑھنے لگا تھا،  ( اس لیے تاخیر ہوئی )  عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ سے لوگوں نے پوچھا: کیا  ( فجر کی )  اذان کے بعد وتر ہے؟ تو انہوں نے کہا: ہاں، اور اقامت کے بعد بھی، اور انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ نبی اکرم ﷺ سو گئے حتیٰ کہ سورج نکل آیا، پھر آپ ﷺ نے نماز پڑھی ۱؎ اس حدیث کے الفاظ یحییٰ بن حکیم کے ہیں۔

Muhammad bin Muntashir se riwayat hai ke woh Amr bin Shurahbil ki masjid mein the ke namaz ki iqamat kahi gai, to log un ka intezar karne lage (jab woh aaye to) unhon ne kaha: main witr padhne laga tha, (is liye takhir hoi) Abdullah bin Masood (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se logon ne poocha: kya (fajr ki) azan ke baad witr hai? to unhon ne kaha: han, aur iqamat ke baad bhi, aur unhon ne bayan kiya ke Nabi-e-Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) so gaye hattak ke suraj nikal aaya, phir aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne namaz padhi 1? is hadees ke alfaz Yahya bin Hakim ke hain.

أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَكِيمٍ، وَعَمْرُو بْنُ يَزِيدَ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْتَشِرِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ فِي مَسْجِدِ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُرَحْبِيلَ فَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلاَةُ فَجَعَلُوا يَنْتَظِرُونَهُ فَقَالَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ أُوتِرُ ‏.‏ قَالَ وَسُئِلَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ هَلْ بَعْدَ الأَذَانِ وِتْرٌ قَالَ نَعَمْ وَبَعْدَ الإِقَامَةِ وَحَدَّثَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنَّهُ نَامَ عَنِ الصَّلاَةِ حَتَّى طَلَعَتِ الشَّمْسُ ثُمَّ صَلَّى ‏.‏ وَاللَّفْظُ لِيَحْيَى ‏.‏
