Chapter: Praying in an izar (waist wrap)

باب الصَّلاَةِ فِي الإِزَارِ

Sunan an-Nasa'i 766

It was narrated that Sahl bin Sa'd (رضي الله تعالى عنه) said : Some men used to pray with Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) tying their lower garments tight like children, it was said to the women : 'Do not raise your heads (from prostration) until the men have sat up completely.'"

سہل بن سعد رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ کچھ لوگ رسول اللہ ﷺ کے ساتھ بچوں کی طرح اپنا تہبند باندھے نماز پڑھ رہے تھے، تو عورتوں سے  ( جو مردوں کے پیچھے پڑھ رہی تھیں )  کہا گیا کہ  جب تک مرد سیدھے ہو کر بیٹھ نہ جائیں تم اپنے سروں کو نہ اٹھاؤ ۔

Sahl bin Saad (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke kuchh log Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke sath bachchon ki tarah apna tehband bandhe namaz padh rahe the, to auraton se ( jo mardon ke pichhe padh rahi thin ) kaha gaya ke jab tak mard sidhe ho kar beth na jayen tum apne sarvon ko na uthao.

أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو حَازِمٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، قَالَ كَانَ رِجَالٌ يُصَلُّونَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَاقِدِينَ أُزْرَهُمْ كَهَيْئَةِ الصِّبْيَانِ فَقِيلَ لِلنِّسَاءِ لاَ تَرْفَعْنَ رُءُوسَكُنَّ حَتَّى يَسْتَوِيَ الرِّجَالُ جُلُوسًا ‏.‏

Sunan an-Nasa'i 767

It was narrated that 'Amr bin Salama (رضي الله تعالى عنه) said : "When my people came back from the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and they said that he had said : 'Let the one who recites the Quran most lead you in prayer.' So they called me and taught me how to bow and prostrate and I used to lead them in prayer, wearing a torn cloak, and they used to say to my father : 'Will you not conceal your son's backside from us?"

عمرو بن سلمہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ جب میرے قبیلہ کے لوگ نبی اکرم ﷺ کے پاس سے لوٹ کر آئے تو کہنے لگے کہ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا ہے:  تم میں جسے قرآن زیادہ یاد ہو وہ تمہاری امامت کرائے ، تو ان لوگوں نے مجھے بلا بھیجا، اور مجھے رکوع اور سجدہ کرنا سکھایا تو میں ان لوگوں کو نماز پڑھاتا تھا، میرے جسم پر ایک پھٹی چادر ہوتی، تو وہ لوگ میرے والد سے کہتے تھے کہ تم ہم سے اپنے بیٹے کی سرین کیوں نہیں ڈھانپ دیتے؟۔

Amro bin Salmah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke jab mere qabila ke log Nabi Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke pas se loot kar aaye to kahne lage ke aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya hai: Tum mein jisse Quran zyada yaad ho woh tumhari imamat karaye, to in logon ne mujhe bhola bhija, aur mujhe rukoo aur sajda karna sikhaya to mein in logon ko namaz padhata tha, mere jism par ek phati chadar hoti, to woh log mere wald se kehte the ke tum hum se apne bete ki sereen kiun nahin dhanp dete?

أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا عَاصِمٌ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَلِمَةَ، قَالَ لَمَّا رَجَعَ قَوْمِي مِنْ عِنْدِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالُوا إِنَّهُ قَالَ ‏"‏ لِيَؤُمَّكُمْ أَكْثَرُكُمْ قِرَاءَةً لِلْقُرْآنِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ فَدَعَوْنِي فَعَلَّمُونِي الرُّكُوعَ وَالسُّجُودَ فَكُنْتُ أُصَلِّي بِهِمْ وَكَانَتْ عَلَىَّ بُرْدَةٌ مَفْتُوقَةٌ فَكَانُوا يَقُولُونَ لأَبِي أَلاَ تُغَطِّي عَنَّا اسْتَ ابْنِكَ ‏.‏
