Sunan an-Nasa'i 1491
Abu Bakra (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that, ‘we were with the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) when the sun became eclipsed. The Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) went out dragging his garment, until he came to the masjid, and the people gathered around him. He led us in praying two rak'a and when (the eclipse) ended he said, ‘the sun and the moon are two of the signs of Allah ( َّعَز َّ وَجَل) by means of which Allah’s (جَلَّ ذُو) magnanimity is instilled in to the hearts of the people. They do not become eclipsed for the death or birth of anyone. If you see that, then pray until Allah ( ََّّ وَ جَلعَز) relieves you of fear’. (As it was the practice of the Arabs that they thought the eclipse happen on the death of an important person, and on that day) Prophet’s (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) infant son Ibrahim (عليه السالم) had died and people told him that it was because of Ibrahim’s (عليه السالم) death.

ابوبکرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم رسول اللہ ﷺ کے پاس تھے کہ سورج گرہن لگا، رسول اللہ ﷺ اپنی چادر گھسیٹتے ہوئے نکلے یہاں تک کہ آپ مسجد پہنچے، اور لوگ ( بھی ) آپ کی طرف لپکے، پھر آپ نے ہمیں دو رکعت نماز پڑھائی، جب سورج صاف ہو گیا تو آپ نے فرمایا: سورج اور چاند اللہ تعالیٰ کی نشانیوں میں سے دو نشانیاں ہیں جن کے ذریعہ اللہ تعالیٰ اپنے بندوں کو ڈراتا ہے، اور یہ دونوں نہ تو کسی کے مرنے پر گہناتے ہیں اور نہ ہی کسی کے پیدا ہونے پر، تو جب تم انہیں گہنایا ہوا دیکھو تو نماز پڑھو یہاں تک کہ وہ چیز چھٹ جائے جو تم پر آن پڑی ہے ، اور آپ نے یہ اس لیے فرمایا کہ ( اسی روز ) آپ ﷺ کے صاحبزادے ابراہیم کا انتقال ہوا تھا، تو کچھ لوگوں نے آپ سے یہ بات کہی تھی۔
Abu Bakr RA kehte hain ke hum Rasool Allah SAW ke pas the ke suraj grahan laga, Rasool Allah SAW apni chadar ghaseet te hue nikle yahan tak ke aap Masjid pahunche, aur log ( bhi ) aap ki taraf lipke, phir aap ne humein do rakat namaz padhai, jab suraj saf ho gaya to aap ne farmaya: suraj aur chaand Allah Ta'ala ki nishaniyon mein se do nishaniyan hain jin ke zariye Allah Ta'ala apne bando ko darata hai, aur ye dono nah to kisi ke marne par gehnate hain aur nah hi kisi ke paida hone par, to jab tum inhen gehnایا ہوا dekho to namaz padho yahan tak ke woh cheez chhat jaye jo tum par aan padi hai, aur aap ne yeh is liye farmaya ke ( usi roz ) aap SAW ke sahibzada Ibrahim ka intikal hua tha, to kuchh logo ne aap se yeh baat kahi thi.
أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ، قَالَ كُنَّا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَانْكَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَجُرُّ رِدَاءَهُ حَتَّى انْتَهَى إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ وَثَابَ إِلَيْهِ النَّاسُ فَصَلَّى بِنَا رَكْعَتَيْنِ فَلَمَّا انْكَشَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ قَالَ " إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ يُخَوِّفُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بِهِمَا عِبَادَهُ وَإِنَّهُمَا لاَ يَخْسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلاَ لِحَيَاتِهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ ذَلِكَ فَصَلُّوا حَتَّى يُكْشَفَ مَا بِكُمْ " . وَذَلِكَ أَنَّ ابْنًا لَهُ مَاتَ يُقَالُ لَهُ إِبْرَاهِيمُ فَقَالَ لَهُ نَاسٌ فِي ذَلِكَ .
