Sunan an-Nasa'i 1693
Abdullah bin Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘Prayer at night is two by two, then when you want to finish, pray one rak'a which will make the total number that you prayed odd’.

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہم کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: رات کی نماز دو دو رکعت ہے، اور وتر ایک رکعت ہے ۔
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " صَلاَةُ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى وَالْوَتْرُ رَكْعَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ " .
