Sunan an-Nasa'i 203
It was narrated that Ummul Momineen Aishah (رضي الله تعالى عنها) said : "Umm Habibah bint Jahsh (رضي الله تعالى عنها) the wife of 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf (رضي الله تعالى عنه) and sister of Ummul Momineen Zainab bint Jahsh (رضي الله تعالى عنها) suffered Istihadah (non-menstrual vaginal bleeding)." She said : "She consulted the Apostle of Allah (ص لى ہللا عليهو آله وسلم) and the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said to her: 'That is not menstruation, rather that is a vein. When you period goes, perform Ghusl and pray, and when it comes, stop praying (for that period).'" Ummul Momineen Aishah ( رضي الله تعالیعنہا) said : "She used to perform Ghusl for every prayer and pray. Sometimes she would perform Ghusl in a washtub in the room of her sister Ummul Momineen Zainab ( رضي الله تعالى عنها) when she was with the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and the water would turn red with blood, then she would go out and pray with the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم). That did not stop her from praying."

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ ام حبیبہ بنت جحش کو سات سال تک استحاضہ کا خون آتا رہا، تو انہوں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ سے اس کی شکایت کی، تو آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا: یہ حیض نہیں ہے، بلکہ یہ ایک رگ ( کا خون ) ہے، لہٰذا غسل کر کے نماز پڑھ لو ۔
Umme-ul-Momineen Aisha Radiallahu Anha kehti hain ke Umme Habibah bint Jahsh ko sat sal tak istihaza ka khoon aata raha, to unhon ne Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se is ki shikayat ki, to Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: Yeh haiz nahin hai, balke yeh ek rag ( ka khoon ) hai, lihaza ghusl kar ke namaz padh lo.
أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الأَوْزَاعِيُّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، وَعَمْرَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتِ اسْتُحِيضَتْ أُمُّ حَبِيبَةَ بِنْتُ جَحْشٍ سَبْعَ سِنِينَ فَاشْتَكَتْ ذَلِكَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " إِنَّ هَذِهِ لَيْسَتْ بِالْحَيْضَةِ وَلَكِنْ هَذَا عِرْقٌ فَاغْتَسِلِي ثُمَّ صَلِّي " .
