Sunan an-Nasa'i 2534
Abu Hurairah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘the best of charity is that which is given when you are self-sufficient, and the upper hand is better than the lower hand, and start with those for whom you are responsible.’

ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”بہتر صدقہ وہ ہے جو مالداری کی برقراری اور دل کی بے نیازی کے ساتھ ہو، اور اوپر والا ہاتھ بہتر ہے نیچے والے ہاتھ سے۔ اور پہلے صدقہ انہیں دو جن کی کفالت و نگرانی تمہارے ذمہ ہے۔
Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke Rasulullah sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam ne farmaya: "Behtar sadaqah woh hai jo maldari ki barqaraari aur dil ki be niyazi ke sath ho, aur oopar wala hath behtar hai neeche wale hath se. Aur pehle sadaqah unhein do jin ki kifalat o nigrani tumhare zimme hai.
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلاَنَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " خَيْرُ الصَّدَقَةِ مَا كَانَ عَنْ ظَهْرِ غِنًى وَالْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْيَدِ السُّفْلَى وَابْدَأْ بِمَنْ تَعُولُ " .
