Chapter: Bequeathing One-Third

باب الْوَصِيَّةِ بِالثُّلُثِ
Sunan an-Nasa'i 3629
It was narrated that Yazid -Ibn Ruzaiq- said: Ibn 'Awn narrated to us, from Nafi', from Ibn 'Umar, from 'Umar, who said: 'I acquired some land at Khaibar. He came to the Prophet and said: I have acquired some land at Khaibar, and I have never been given any wealth that is more precious to me than it. What do you command me to do with it? He said: If you wish, you can 'freeze' it and give it in charity. So he gave it in charity on condition that it would not be sold, given away or inherited, to the poor, relatives, slaves, for the cause of Allah, guests and wayfarers. There is no sin on the one who administers it if he eats from it on a reasonable basis and feeds his friend, with no intention of becoming wealthy from it.'

سعد بن ابراہیم کہتے ہیں کہ آل سعد میں سے ایک شخص نے مجھ سے بیان کیا کہ سعد بیمار ہوئے تو رسول اللہ ﷺ ان کی عیادت کے لیے ان کے پاس تشریف لائے، تو انہوں نے کہا: اللہ کے رسول! میں اپنے سارے مال کی ( اللہ کی راہ میں دینے ) وصیت کر دوں؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ”نہیں“، اور انہوں نے پوری حدیث بیان کی۔
Sa'd bin Ibraheem kehte hain ke Aal Sa'd mein se ek shakhs ne mujh se bayan kiya ke Sa'd beemar hue to Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) un ki iyadat ke liye un ke paas tashreef laye to unhon ne kaha Allah ke Rasool! Main apne saare maal ki ( Allah ki rah mein dene ) wasiyat kar doon? Aap ne farmaya Nahin, aur unhon ne poori hadeeth bayan ki.
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مِسْعَرٌ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي بَعْضُ، آلِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ مَرِضَ سَعْدٌ فَدَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أُوصِي بِمَالِي كُلِّهِ قَالَ " لاَ ". وَسَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ.
