Sunan an-Nasa'i 4298
Adiyy bin Hatim (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated, ‘I asked the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) about hunting and he said, ‘when you shoot your arrow, mention the name of Allah, and if you find that it (the game) has been killed, the eat it, unless you find that it fell into some water, and you do not know whether the water killed it or your arrow’.’

عدی بن حاتم رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ سے شکار کے بارے میں پوچھا، آپ نے فرمایا: ”جب تم اپنا تیر چلاؤ تو اللہ کا نام لو پھر اگر تم دیکھو کہ وہ اس تیر سے مر گیا تو اسے کھاؤ إلا یہ کہ وہ پانی میں گر جائے، اس لیے کہ تمہیں نہیں معلوم کہ وہ پانی سے مرا ہے یا تیر سے“۔
Adi bin Hatim (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke main ne Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se shikar ke bare mein poocha, Aap ne farmaya: "Jab tum apna teer chalao to Allah ka naam lo phir agar tum dekho ke woh us teer se mar gaya to use khaoo ila yeh ke woh pani mein gir jaye, is liye ke tumhein nahin maloom ke woh pani se mara hai ya teer se".
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَاصِمٌ الأَحْوَلُ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ، قَالَ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَنِ الصَّيْدِ فَقَالَ " إِذَا رَمَيْتَ سَهْمَكَ فَاذْكُرِ اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَإِنْ وَجَدْتَهُ قَدْ قُتِلَ فَكُلْ إِلاَّ أَنْ تَجِدَهُ قَدْ وَقَعَ فِي مَاءٍ وَلاَ تَدْرِي الْمَاءُ قَتَلَهُ أَوْ سَهْمُكَ " .
