Sunan an-Nasa'i 590
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) that he prayed Al-Uula (Zuhr) and 'Asr together in Basrah with nothing in between them, and he prayed Maghrib and 'Isha' together with nothing in between them. He did that because he was busy and Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) said that he had prayed Zuhr and 'Asr' together with the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) in Madina, eight Rak'ahs with nothing in between.

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہم سے روایت ہے کہ انہوں نے بصرہ میں پہلی نماز ۱؎ ( ظہر ) اور عصر ایک ساتھ پڑھی، ان کے درمیان کوئی اور نماز نہیں پڑھی، اور مغرب و عشاء ایک ساتھ پڑھی ان کے درمیان کوئی اور نماز نہیں پڑھی، انہوں نے ایسا کسی مشغولیت کی بناء پر کیا، اور ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہم کا کہنا ہے کہ انہوں نے مدینہ میں رسول اللہ ﷺ کے ساتھ پہلی نماز ( ظہر ) اور عصر آٹھ رکعتیں پڑھی، ان دونوں نمازوں کے درمیان کوئی نماز فاصل نہیں تھی۔
Abdul-Allah bin Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se riwayat hai ke unhon ne Basra mein pehli namaz (Zohr) aur Asr ek sath padhi, un ke darmiyan koi aur namaz nahin padhi, aur Maghrib o Isha ek sath padhi un ke darmiyan koi aur namaz nahin padhi, unhon ne aisa kisi mashghuliyat ki bana par kiya, aur Ibn Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ka kahna hai ke unhon ne Madina mein Rasool-Allah salla-Allahu alaihi wa sallam ke sath pehli namaz (Zohr) aur Asr aath rak'aten padhi, un dono namazon ke darmiyan koi namaz fasil nahin thi.
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، خُشَيْشُ بْنُ أَصْرَمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَبَّانُ بْنُ هِلاَلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَبِيبٌ، - وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ - عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ هَرِمٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّهُ صَلَّى بِالْبَصْرَةِ الأُولَى وَالْعَصْرَ لَيْسَ بَيْنَهُمَا شَىْءٌ وَالْمَغْرِبَ وَالْعِشَاءَ لَيْسَ بَيْنَهُمَا شَىْءٌ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ مِنْ شُغْلٍ وَزَعَمَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّهُ صَلَّى مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِالْمَدِينَةِ الأُولَى وَالْعَصْرَ ثَمَانِ سَجَدَاتٍ لَيْسَ بَيْنَهُمَا شَىْءٌ .
