Sunan an-Nasa'i 665
It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin Rubayyi'a (رضئ للا تعالی عنہ) that he was with the Apostle of Allah (صلى للا عليه و آله وسلم) on a journey and he heard the voice of a man calling the Adhan and he said what he said. When he reached the words - أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا ِ ََّ سُولُ َّللار [ I bear witness that Muhammad is the Apostle of Allah], Al-Hakam said, "I did not hear this from Ibn Abi Lailah", the Apostle of Allah (صلى للا عليه و آله وسلم) said : "This is a shepherd of a man who is away from his family." He went down into the valley and found a shepherd, standing by a dead sheep. He said : "Do you think that this is worthless to its owners?" They said : "Yes." He said : "This world is more worthless to Allah than this (dead sheep) is to its owners."

عبداللہ بن ربیعہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ وہ ایک سفر میں رسول اللہ ﷺ کے ساتھ تھے، آپ نے ایک شخص کی آواز سنی جو اذان دے رہا تھا، تو آپ ﷺ نے بھی اسی طرح کہا جیسے اس نے کہا، پھر آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا: یہ کوئی بکریوں کا چرواہا ہے، یا اپنے گھر والوں سے بچھڑا ہوا ہے ، لوگوں نے دیکھا تو وہ ( واقعی ) بکریوں کا چرواہا نکلا۔
Abdul-Allah bin Rabia Razi Allah anhu se riwayat hai ke woh ek safar mein Rasool-Allah Sall-Allah Alaihi Wasallam ke sath the, Aap ne ek shakhs ki aawaz suni jo azan de raha tha, to Aap Sall-Allah Alaihi Wasallam ne bhi isi tarah kaha jaise us ne kaha, phir Aap Sall-Allah Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya: yeh koi bakriyon ka churaha hai, ya apne ghar walon se bichhda hua hai, logon ne dekha to woh (waqi) bakriyon ka churaha nikla.
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ رُبَيِّعَةَ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي سَفَرٍ فَسَمِعَ صَوْتَ رَجُلٍ يُؤَذِّنُ فَقَالَ مِثْلَ قَوْلِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّ هَذَا لَرَاعِي غَنَمٍ أَوْ عَازِبٌ عَنْ أَهْلِهِ . فَنَظَرُوا فَإِذَا هُوَ رَاعِي غَنَمٍ .
