Sunan an-Nasa'i 778
It was narrated that Abu Aliyah Al-Barra said : "Ziyad delayed the prayer, then Ibn Samit came to me and I gave him a chair and he sat on it. I told him what Ziyad had done and he bit his lip (in disapproval), and he struck me on the thigh and said : 'I asked Abu Dharr (رضي الله تعالى عنه) the same question you asked me, and he struck me on the thigh as I struck you on the thigh and said : I asked the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) the same question as you have asked me and he struck me on the thigh as I have struck you on the thigh and said : Offer the prayer on time, and if you catch up with them, then pray with them, and do not say: 'I have already prayed so I will not pray (now)."'

ابوالعالیہ البراء کہتے ہیں کہ زیاد نے نماز میں دیر کر دی تو میرے پاس ( عبداللہ ابن صامت ) ابن صامت آئے میں نے ان کے لیے ایک کرسی لا کر رکھی، وہ اس پہ بیٹھے، میں نے ان سے زیاد کی کارستانیوں کا ذکر کیا، تو انہوں نے اپنے دونوں ہونٹوں کو بھینچا ۱؎ اور میری ران پر ہاتھ مارا، اور کہا: میں نے بھی ابوذر رضی اللہ عنہ سے اسی طرح پوچھا جس طرح تم نے مجھ سے پوچھا ہے، تو انہوں نے میری ران پہ ہاتھ مارا جس طرح میں نے تیری ران پہ مارا ہے، اور کہا: میں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ سے اسی طرح پوچھا ہے، جس طرح تم نے مجھ سے پوچھا ہے تو آپ نے تمہاری ران پہ ہاتھ مارا جس طرح میں نے تمہاری ران پہ مارا ہے، اور فرمایا: نماز اس کے وقت پر پڑھ لیا کرو، اور اگر تم ان کے ساتھ نماز کا وقت پاؤ تو ان کے ساتھ بھی پڑھ لو، اور یہ نہ کہو کہ میں نے نماز پڑھ لی ہے، لہٰذا اب نہیں پڑھوں گا ۲؎۔
Abu'l-'Alaa al-Bara' kehte hain ke Ziyaad ne namaz mein dair kar di to mere paas ( 'Abdullaah ibn Saamit) ibn Saamit aaye main ne un ke liye ek kursi la kar rakhi, woh is pe bethe, main ne un se Ziyaad ki karstaaniyon ka zikr kiya, to unhon ne apne dono honto ko bhincha 1؎ aur meri raan per haath mara, aur kaha: main ne bhi Abu Zar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se isi tarah poocha jis tarah tum ne mujh se poocha hai, to unhon ne meri raan pe haath mara jis tarah main ne teri raan pe mara hai, aur kaha: main ne Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se isi tarah poocha hai, jis tarah tum ne mujh se poocha hai to aap ne tumhari raan pe haath mara jis tarah main ne tumhari raan pe mara hai, aur farmaaya: namaz is ke waqt per padh liya karo, aur agar tum un ke saath namaz ka waqt pao to un ke saath bhi padh lo, aur yeh na kaho ke main ne namaz padh li hai, lihaza ab nahin padhoon ga 2؎.
أَخْبَرَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ الْبَرَّاءِ، قَالَ أَخَّرَ زِيَادٌ الصَّلاَةَ فَأَتَانِي ابْنُ صَامِتٍ فَأَلْقَيْتُ لَهُ كُرْسِيًّا فَجَلَسَ عَلَيْهِ فَذَكَرْتُ لَهُ صُنْعَ زِيَادٍ فَعَضَّ عَلَى شَفَتَيْهِ وَضَرَبَ عَلَى فَخِذِي وَقَالَ إِنِّي سَأَلْتُ أَبَا ذَرٍّ كَمَا سَأَلْتَنِي فَضَرَبَ فَخِذِي كَمَا ضَرَبْتُ فَخِذَكَ وَقَالَ إِنِّي سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَمَا سَأَلْتَنِي فَضَرَبَ فَخِذِي كَمَا ضَرَبْتُ فَخِذَكَ فَقَالَ عَلَيْهِ الصَّلاَةُ وَالسَّلاَمُ " صَلِّ الصَّلاَةَ لِوَقْتِهَا فَإِنْ أَدْرَكْتَ مَعَهُمْ فَصَلِّ وَلاَ تَقُلْ إِنِّي صَلَّيْتُ فَلاَ أُصَلِّي " .
