Al-Mu'jam al-Saghir 298
Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We were waiting in the mosque with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) for the prayer, when a man stood up and said: "I have committed a sin." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) turned away from him. Then when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had finished (what he was doing), the man stood up again and repeated what he had said. So the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Have you prayed this prayer with us and performed ablution well for it?" He said: "Yes." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Then that is an expiation for your sin."

سیدنا علی رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں: ہم مسجد میں نبی ﷺ کے ساتھ نماز کا انتظار کر رہے تھے تو ایک آدمی اٹھا اور کہنے لگا: مجھ سے گناہ سرزد ہو گیا ہے۔ آپ ( ﷺ ) نے اس سے منہ موڑ لیا، پھر جب نبی ﷺ نے بات مکمل کر لی تو وہ شخص پھر اٹھا اور اپنی بات دہرائی، تو آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”تو نے ہمارے ساتھ یہ نماز پڑھی اور اس کے لیے اچھی طرح وضو بھی کیا ہے؟“ اس نے کہا: جی ہاں! آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”پس یہ تیرے گناہ کا کفارہ ہو گیا۔“
Sayyidna Ali (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain: hum masjid mein Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke sath namaz ka intezar kar rahe the to ek aadmi utha aur kehne laga: mujh se gunah sarzad ho gaya hai. Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne is se munh mor liya, phir jab Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne baat mukmmal kar li to wo shakhs phir utha aur apni baat dohrai, to Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: ”Tune humare sath yeh namaz parhi aur is ke liye achhi tarah wuzu bhi kiya hai?“ Is ne kaha: Ji haan! Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: ”Pas yeh tere gunah ka kaffara ho gaya.“.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ الأَصْبَهَانِيُّ الْفَقِيهُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَرْبٍ الْمَوْصِلِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْمَدَنِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ: كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ نَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلاةَ، فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ، فَقَالَ:" إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ ذَنْبًا، فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ، فَلَمَّا قَضَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَامَ الرَّجُلُ فَأَعَادَ الْقَوْلَ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَلَيْسَ قَدْ صَلَّيْتَ مَعَنَا هَذِهِ الصَّلاةَ، وَأَحْسَنْتَ لَهَا الطُّهُورَ؟، قَالَ: بَلَى، قَالَ: فَإِنَّهَا كَفَّارَةُ ذَنْبِكَ"، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، إِلا إِسْرَائِيلُ، وَلا عَنْهُ إِلا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، وَلا يُرْوَى عَنْ عَلِيٍّ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ، إِلا بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ .
