Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah 30
Ibne Abbas R.A. says: "Rasulullah ﷺ used to leave his hair the way it naturally was, without making a path in the hair (parting hair). The reason being that the mushrikeen (polytheists) used to make a path in their hair, and the Ahlul Kitaab (People of the Book) did not do so. In the early periods Rasulullah ﷺ preferred to follow the Ahlul Kitaab, rather than others, in matters where no command had came from Allah. Later this was abrogated, and Rasulullah ﷺ began apposing the ways of the Ahlul Kitaab after this".
’’ سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ یقیناً رسول اللہ ﷺ اپنے بالوں کولٹکایا کرتے تھے، اور مشرکین اپنے بالوں میں مانگ نکالتے تھے، جبکہ اہل کتاب اپنے سر کے بالوں کو لٹکاتے، اس لیے کہ جس کام میں آپ ﷺ کو کوئی حکم نہ دیا جاتا اس میں آپ ﷺ اہل کتاب کی موافقت پسند فرماتے تھے، پھر نبی اکرم ﷺ نے بھی سر میں مانگ نکالنی شروع کر دی۔ ‘‘
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki yaqinan Rasulullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) apne baalon ko latkaya karte the, aur mushrikeen apne baalon mein mang nikalte the, jabke ahl e kitab apne sar ke baalon ko latkate, is liye ki jis kaam mein Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko koi hukm na diya jata us mein Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ahl e kitab ki muwafqat pasand farmate the, phir Nabi Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne bhi sar mein mang nikalni shuru kar di.
حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ أَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: ((أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُسْدِلُ شَعْرَهُ، وَكَانَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ يَفْرِقُونَ رُءُوسَهُمْ، وَكَانَ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ يُسْدِلُونَ رُءُوسَهُمْ، وَكَانَ يُحِبُّ مُوَافَقَةَ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ فِيمَا لَمْ يُؤْمَرْ فِيهِ بِشَيْءٍ، ثُمَّ فَرَقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأْسَهُ))
