It is narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Jabir bin Abdullah that a person came to the presence of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and submitted: O Messenger of Allah! Tell me, is it obligatory to perform Umrah? You (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: No, however, it is better for you to perform Umrah.
حضرت جابر بن عبداللہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک شخص حضور اقدس (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا اور عرض کیا، اے اللہ کے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ! مجھے بتائیں کہ کیا عمرہ کرنا واجب ہے ؟ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : نہیں، بہرحال تو عمرہ کر یہ تیرے لیے بہتر ہے۔
Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah se marvi hai ki aik shakhs Huzoor Aqdas (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki khidmat mein hazir hua aur arz kiya, Aye Allah ke Rasool (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam)! mujhe bataein ki kya Umrah karna wajib hai? Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya: Nahi, beherhaal to Umrah kar ye tere liye behtar hai.
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saleh that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Performing Hajj is equivalent to performing Jihad and performing Umrah is a voluntary act of worship.
حضرت ابو صالح سے مروی ہے کہ حضور اقدس (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : حج کرنا جہاد کرنے کے برابر ہے اور عمرہ کرنا نفلی عبادت ہے۔
Hazrat Abu Saleh se marvi hai ki Huzoor Aqdas (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya: Hajj karna jihad karne ke barabar hai aur Umrah karna nafli ibadat hai.
Hazrat Abdullah states that performing Hajj is obligatory and necessary, while performing Umrah is a supererogatory (optional but rewarding) act of worship.
حضرت عبداللہ فرماتے ہیں کہ حج کرنا فرض اور ضروری ہے، اور عمرہ کرنا نفلی عبادت ہے۔
Hazrat Abdullah farmate hain ke Hajj karna farz aur zaroori hai, aur Umrah karna nafli ibadat hai.
Hazrat Shu'bah said, I asked Hazrat Hammad whether it is obligatory to perform Umrah. You said there is a difference of opinion regarding its ruling.
حضرت شعبہ فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے حضرت حماد سے دریافت کیا کہ کیا عمرہ کرنا واجب ہے ؟ آپ نے فرمایا اس کے حکم کے متعلق اختلاف کیا گیا ہے۔
Hazrat Shubah farmate hain keh maine Hazrat Hammad se daryaft kiya keh kya Umrah karna wajib hai? Aap ne farmaya is ke hukum ke mutalliq ikhtilaf kiya gaya hai.
