Issue of Selling Present Goods for Future Delivery
مَسْأَلَةٌ فِي بَيْعِ الْحَاضِرِ بِالْغَائِبِ

Hazrat Umar narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Wheat for wheat is Riba (interest) - yes, if it is like this and this (i.e., hand to hand) - and barley for barley is Riba - yes, if it is like this and this (i.e., hand to hand)"
حضرت عمر فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : گندم، گندم کے عوض سود ہے ہاں اگر یوں اور یوں ہوں (یعنی نقد ہو) اور جَو، جَو کے عوض سود ہے۔ ہاں اگر یوں اور یوں ہو (یعنی نقد ہو)
Hazrat Umar farmate hain keh Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya: Gandum, gandum ke awaz sud hai haan agar yun aur yun hon (yani naqd ho) aur jao, jao ke awaz sud hai. Haan agar yun aur yun ho (yani naqd ho)
Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Hand to hand, equal and cash should be paid."
حضرت عبادہ بن صامت بیان فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا ۔ جَوْ ، جَو کے عوض برابر اور نقد دیئے جائیں گے۔
Hazrat Ubadah bin Samat bayan farmate hain keh Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya. Jau, jau ke awaz barabar aur naqd diye jayenge.
It is narrated on the authority of Hadrat Abu Saeed Khudri that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Wheat will be sold for equal amount of wheat in cash. And barley will be sold for equal amount of barley in cash.
And it is narrated about (Imam) Abu Hanifa that he used to say that there is no harm in selling wheat which is not present for wheat which is present.
حضرت ابو سعید خدری سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : گندم ، گندم کے عوض برابر اور نقد (بیع) ہوگی اور جَو، جَو کے عوض برابر اور نقد دیئے جائیں گے۔
اور (امام) ابوحنیفہ کا قول یہ ذکر کیا گیا ہے کہ : وہ فرمایا کرتے تھے کہ غیر موجود گندم کو حاضر گندم کے عوض بیچنے میں کوئی حرج نہیں ہے۔
Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri se riwayat hai keh Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya: Gandum, gandum ke awaz barabar aur naqd (bay') hogi aur jau, jau ke awaz barabar aur naqd diye jayenge.
Aur (Imam) Abu Hanifa ka qaul yeh zikr kiya gaya hai keh: Woh farmaya karte thay keh ghair maujood gandum ko hazir gandum ke awaz bechne mein koi harj nahi hai.
