فِي الِاسْتِغْنَاءِ عَنِ الْمَسْأَلَةِ مَنْ قَالَ: «الْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْيَدِ السُّفْلَى»

Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 10694
It is narrated on the authority of Tha'labah ibn Zahdam that Tha'labah's people came to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). At that time, you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) were delivering a sermon and saying that the giving hand is superior and the taking hand is inferior, and begin giving from among those who are under your care. Your mother, your father, your sister, your brother, who is close to you and who is closer than him.
حضرت ثعلبہ بن زھدم سے مروی ہے کہ ثعلبہ کی قوم حضور اقدس (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی خدمت میں پہنچی اس وقت آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) خطبہ ارشاد فرما رہے تھے اور فرما رہے تھے کہ دینے والا ہاتھ اوپر والا ہے اور لینے والا ہاتھ نیچے والا ہے اور دینے میں ان لوگوں سے ابتدا کر جو تیری کفالت میں ہیں۔ تیری ماں، تیرا باپ، تیری بہن، تیرا بھائی، جو تیرا قریبی ہے اور جو اس سے قریبی ہے۔
Hazrat Sa'laba bin Zaham se marvi hai ki Sa'laba ki qaum Huzoor Aqdas (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki khidmat mein pahunchi us waqt aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) khutba irshad farma rahe the aur farma rahe the ki dene wala hath upar wala hai aur lene wala hath neeche wala hai aur dene mein in logon se ibtida kar jo teri kafalat mein hain. Teri maan, tera baap, teri bahan, tera bhai, jo tera qareebi hai aur jo us se qareebi hai.
حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بْنِ أَبِي الشَّعْثَاءِ ، عَنْ أَسْوَدَ بْنِ هِلَالٍ ، عَنْ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ زَهْدَمٍ ، قَالَ : انْتَهَى قَوْمُ ثَعْلَبَةَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَخْطُبُ ، وَهُوَ يَقُولُ : " يَدُ الْمُعْطِي : الْعُلْيَا ، وَيَدُ السَّائِلِ : السُّفْلَى ، وَابْدَأْ بِمَنْ تَعُولُ : أُمَّكَ ، وَأَبَاكَ ، وَأُخْتَكَ ، وَأَخَاكَ ، وَأَدْنَاكَ فَأَدْنَاكَ "
