كِتَابُ الْحَجِّ
Who used to count his Tawaf
مَنْ كَانَ يَعِدُّ طَوَافَهُ

It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin 'Umar that he was asked about walking between As-Safa and Al-Marwah. He said to the questioner: "Start the circuits from As-Safa and end them at Al-Marwah, and if you are afraid of forgetting how many circuits you have done, then take some small stones or pebbles with you and put down one pebble at As-Safa and another at Al-Marwah (so that it will be easier for you to count)."
حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر سے صفا ومروہ کی سعی کے متعلق دریافت کیا گیا ؟ آپ نے سوال کرنے والے سے فرمایا : صفا سے چکر (سعی) شروع کر اور مروہ پر ختم کر اور اگر چکروں کے بھول جانے کا اندیشہ ہو تو اپنے ساتھ چھوٹے پتھر یا کنکریاں لے لو اور ایک کنکری صفا پر اور دوسری کنکری مروہ پر ڈال دو (اس طرح گننے میں آسانی ہوگی) ۔
Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar se Safa o Marwa ki sayi ke mutalliq daryaft kiya gaya? Aap ne sawal karne wale se farmaya: Safa se chakkar (sayi) shuru kar aur Marwa par khatam kar aur agar chakkaron ke bhul jane ka andesha ho to apne sath chhote pathar ya kankriyan le lo aur ek kankri Safa par aur dusri kankri Marwa par dal do (is tarah ginne mein asani hogi).
أَبُو بَكْرٍ قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنْ صَالِحِ بنِ دِرْهَمٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بنَ عُمَرَ ، وَسُئِلَ عَنِ السَّعْيِ بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ ، فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ ، لِلْسَائِلِ : « افْتَحْ بِالصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ ، فَإِنْ خَشَيْتَ أَنْ لَا تُحْصِي ، فَخُذْ مَعَكَ أَحْجَارًا أَوْ حَصَيَاتٍ ، فَأَلْقِ بِالصَّفَا وَاحِدةً ، وَبِالْمَرْوَةِ أُخْرَى »
