كِتَابُ الطَّلَاقِ

What did they say about the wife of an impotent man? If they are separated, does she have a waiting period?

‌مَا قَالُوا فِي امْرَأَةِ الْعِنِّينِ؟ إِذَا فُرِّقَ بَيْنَهُمَا عَلَيْهَا عِدَّةٌ

Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 18803

Hazrat Ata (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "When one year passes after the passing of the waiting period, then the woman whose husband has passed away will observe the waiting period, regardless of whether or not the husband has issued a divorce."

حضرت عطائ (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ جب مہلت کو ایک سال گزر جائے تو عورت مطلقہ والی عدت گزارے گی خواہ نامرد نے طلاق نہ دی ہو۔

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ قَالَ : نا أَبُو خَالِدٍ الْأَحْمَرُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ قَالَ : « إِذَا مَضَتِ السَّنَةُ اعْتَدَّتْ بَعْدَ السَّنَةِ عِدَّةَ الْمُطَلَّقَةِ ، وَإِنْ لَمْ يُطَلِّقْهَا »
