كِتَابُ الْأَطْعِمَةِ
Regarding cheese and eating it
فِي الْجُبْنِ وَأَكْلِهِ

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Wa'il and Hazrat Ibrahim, these two gentlemen say that when the Muslims arrived, they found bread and cheese from the food of the Magians. All of them ate (it). And they did not inquire about it. When cheese was mentioned to Hazrat Umar, he said: Take the name of Allah upon it and eat it.
حضرت ابو وائل اور حضرت ابراہیم سے روایت ہے، یہ دونوں حضرات کہتے ہیں کہ جب مسلمان پہنچے تو انھوں نے مجوسیوں کے کھانوں میں سے ان کی روٹیاں اور ان کی پنیر ملی ۔ سب انھوں نے (اس کو) کھالیا۔ اور انھوں نے اس کے متعلق کچھ معلوم نہیں کیا۔ حضرت عمر کے ہاں پنیر کا ذکر کیا گیا تو انھوں نے فرمایا : اس پر اللہ کا نام لو اور اس کو کھا جاؤ۔
Hazrat Abu Wael aur Hazrat Ibrahim se riwayat hai, ye donon hazrat kehte hain ki jab Musalman pohanche to unhon ne Majusiyon ke khanon mein se un ki rotiyan aur un ki paneer mili. Sab unhon ne (is ko) kha liya. Aur unhon ne is ke mutaliq kuch malum nahi kiya. Hazrat Umar ke han paneer ka zikr kiya gaya to unhon ne farmaya: Is par Allah ka naam lo aur is ko kha jao.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَا : لَمَّا قَدِمَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ أَصَابُوا مِنْ أَطْعِمَةِ الْمَجُوسِ مِنْ جُبْنِهِمْ وَخُبْزِهِمْ ، فَأَكَلُوا وَلَمْ يَسْأَلُوا عَنْ ذَلِكَ ، وَوُصِفَ الْجُبْنُ لِعُمَرَ ، فَقَالَ : « اذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَكُلُوهُ »
