كِتَابُ اللِّبَاسِ وَالزِّينَةِ
What a man should say when wearing new clothes
مَا يَقُولُ الرَّجُلُ إِذَا لَبِسَ الثَّوْبَ الْجَدِيدَ
Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 25088
It is narrated on the authority of Hadrat 'Abdur Rahman bin Abi Layla (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When any one of you wears a new garment, he should say: (Translation): All praise is for Allah Who has clothed me with that which I cover my private parts with and with that which I beautify myself with among the people."
حضرت عبد الرحمن بن ابی لیلیٰ سے روایت ہے۔ وہ کہتے ہیں کہ جناب رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : ” جب تم میں سے کوئی نیا کپڑا پہنے تو اس کو یہ کہنا چاہیے۔ (ترجمہ): تمام تعریفیں اس اللہ کے لیے ہیں جس نے مجھے وہ (کپڑا) پہنایا جس کے ذریعہ میں اپنے ستر کو چھپاتا ہوں اور جس کے ذریعہ میں لوگوں میں جمال حاصل کرتا ہوں۔ “
Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Abi Laila se riwayat hai. Woh kehte hain ke janab Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya : " Jab tum mein se koi naya kapda pehne to usko yeh kehna chahiye. (Tarjuma): Tamam tareefain us Allah ke liye hain jisne mujhe woh (kapda) pehnaya jiske zariye mein apne satar ko chhupata hun aur jiske zariye mein logon mein jamal hasil karta hun. "
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ أَخِيهِ عِيسَى ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ : " إِذَا لَبِسَ أَحَدُكُمْ ثَوْبًا جَدِيدًا فَلْيَقُلِ : الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي كَسَانِي مَا أُوَارِي بِهِ عَوْرَتِي ، وَأَتَجَمَّلُ بِهِ فِي النَّاسِ "
