Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 30335
Harith bin Umair Al-Zubaidi narrates that when the plague spread in Syria, Hazrat Muadh (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up to deliver a sermon at the place of Hims and said: This plague is the mercy of your Lord, and the prayer of your Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). And the death of the righteous people before you. O Allah! Grant the family of Muadh a full share in it. The narrator says: When you (may Allah be pleased with him) came down from the pulpit, a visitor came and informed: Indeed, Abdur Rahman bin Muadh has contracted the plague. So you (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return. The narrator says: Then you (may Allah be pleased with him) went to him: The narrator says that when Abdur Rahman saw you coming, he said: Indeed, this is the truth from your Lord, so do not be among those who doubt. The narrator says: Then you (may Allah be pleased with him) recited this verse: You will surely find among the patient ones. The narrator says: So all the members of the family of Muadh died one by one until Hazrat Muadh (may Allah be pleased with him) was the last of them. The narrator says: Then you (may Allah be pleased with him) also contracted the plague. So Harith bin Umair Al-Zubaidi came to you. The narrator says: Hazrat Muadh (may Allah be pleased with him) fell unconscious. When you (may Allah be pleased with him) regained consciousness, Harith was crying, so Hazrat Muadh (may Allah be pleased with him) said: What made you cry? Harith said: I am crying over the loss of knowledge that will be buried with you. You (may Allah be pleased with him) said: If you are a seeker of knowledge, then there is no problem, so you should seek it from Abdullah bin Masood (may Allah be pleased with him), and from Uwaimir Abu Al-Darda, and from Salman Farsi (may Allah be pleased with him). And he said: Beware of the mistakes of the scholar. Harith says I asked: How can I recognize his mistake? (May Allah keep you healthy) You (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Surely, there is a light for the truth by which it is recognized. The narrator says: Then Hazrat Muadh (may Allah be pleased with him) passed away, and Harith left for Kufa for the purpose of meeting Abdullah bin Masood (may Allah be pleased with him). When he reached his door, he saw a group of the companions of Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) at the door, debating and discussing. The narrator says that they were talking among themselves until they started saying, O Syrian brother: Are you a believer? You (may Allah be pleased with him) said yes! Then they asked: Are you one of the people of Paradise? You (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Surely I have committed some sins, I do not know what Allah has done with those sins, so if I knew that my sins have been forgiven, I would definitely tell you that indeed I am from the people of Paradise. The narrator says: We were in the middle of this when Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) came to us, so his companions said to him: Don't you wonder at our Syrian brother who thinks he is a believer but does not think he is from the people of Paradise? The narrator says: Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: If I say one of these two things, I will also say the other, so Harith said: We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return! May Allah have mercy on Muadh (may Allah be pleased with him)! You (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: Who is Muadh who has passed away? They said: Muadh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him). You (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: What did he say? Harith said: Beware of the mistakes of the scholar. So I swear by Allah that, O Ibn Masood (may Allah be pleased with him), you are mistaken. There is no faith except that we believe in Allah, and His angels, and His Books, and His Messengers, and the Last Day, and Paradise and Hell, and the resurrection after death, and the Balance, and we have some sins, we do not know what Allah has decreed about them, so if we knew that our sins have been forgiven, we would surely say that we are from the people of Paradise. So Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: You have spoken the truth. By Allah, I was wrong.
حضرت حارث بن عمیرہ الزبیدی فرماتے ہیں کہ جب شام میں طاعون پھیلا تو حضرت معاذ (رض) حمص کے مقام پر خطبہ دینے کے لیے کھڑے ہوئے اور ارشاد فرمایا : یہ طاعون تمہارے رب کی رحمت ہے، اور تمہارے نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی دعا ہے۔ اور تم سے پہلے کے نیک لوگوں کی موت ہے۔ اے اللہ ! آلِ معاذ کو اس میں سے پورا پورا حصہ عطا فر فرما۔ راوی کہتے ہیں : جب آپ (رض) منبر سے نیچے اترے تو ایک آنے والے نے آ کر خبر دی : بیشک عبد الرحمن بن معاذ طاعون میں مبتلا ہوگئے ۔ تو آپ (رض) نے فرمایا : ہم اللہ ہی کے لیے ہیں اور ہم اس کی طرف ہی لوٹ کر جانے والے ہیں۔ راوی فرماتے ہیں۔ پھر آپ (رض) اس کی طرف چلے : راوی کہتے ہیں جب عبد الرحمن نے آپ کو آتے ہوئے دیکھا تو فرمایا : بیشک یہی حق ہے تیرے رب کی طرف سے پس تم ہرگز شک کرنے والوں میں سے مت ہونا، راوی کہتے ہیں : پھر آپ (رض) نے یہ آیت پڑھی : ضرور پائیں گے آپ ان شاء اللہ صابروں میں سے۔ راوی فرماتے ہیں : پس آل معاذ ایک ایک فرد کر کے مرگئے یہاں تک کہ حضرت معاذ (رض) ان میں سے آخر میں رہ گئے۔ راوی فرماتے ہیں : پھر آپ (رض) بھی طاعون میں مبتلا ہوگئے۔ تو حارث بن عمیر الزبیدی آپ کے پاس آئے۔ راوی فرماتے ہیں : حضرت معاذ (رض) پر بےہوشی طاری ہوگئی۔ جب آپ (رض) کو ہوش آیا تو حارث رو رہے تھے تو حضرت معاذ (رض) نے فرمایا : تمہیں کس چیز نے رلا دیا ؟ حارث نے کہا : میں اس علم کے ضائع ہونے پر رو رہا ہوں جو آپ کے ساتھ دفن ہوجائے گا۔ آپ (رض) نے فرمایا : اگر تو علم کا طالب ہے تو کوئی مشکل نہیں پس تو حضرت عبداللہ بن مسعود (رض) سے اس کو طلب کر، اور عویمر ابو الدرداء سے ، اور سلمان فارسی (رض) سے، اور فرمایا : تم عالم کی غلطیوں سے بچو۔ حارث کہتے ہیں میں نے پوچھا : میں کیسے اس کی غلطی کو پہچانوں ؟ ( اللہ آپ کو تندرست فرمائے) آپ (رض) نے فرمایا : یقیناً حق کے لیے نور ہوتا ہے جس کے ذریعہ وہ پہچان لیا جاتا ہے۔ راوی فرماتے ہیں : پھر حضرت معاذ (رض) کی وفات ہوگئی، اور حارث حضرت عبداللہ بن مسعود (رض) کی غرض سے کوفہ کی طرف نکلے۔ جب ان کے دروازے پر پہنچے۔ تو دیکھا وہاں حضرت عبداللہ (رض) کے اصحاب کا گروہ دروازے پر بحث و مباحثہ کر رہے ہیں۔ راوی فرماتے ہیں کہ ان کے درمیان بات چیت جاری تھی یہاں تک کہ وہ کہنے لگے، اے شامی بھائی : کیا تم مومن ہو ؟ آپ (رض) نے کہا جی ہاں ! پھر انھوں نے پوچھا : جنتیوں میں سے ہو ؟ آپ (رض) نے کہا : یقیناً میرے سے کچھ گناہ سرزد ہوئے ہیں میں نہیں جانتا کہ اللہ نے ان گناہوں کا کیا معاملہ کیا، پس اگر مجھے معلوم ہوتا کہ میرے ان گناہوں کو معاف کردیا گیا ہے، تو میں تمہیں ضرور بتلاتا کہ بیشک میں جنتی ہوں راوی فرماتے ہیں : ہم اسی درمیان میں تھے کہ حضرت عبداللہ (رض) ہمارے پاس تشریف لے آئے، تو ان کے اصحاب نے ان سے کہا : کیا آپ تعجب نہیں کرتے ہمارے اس شامی بھائی پر جو مومن ہونے کا گمان تو کرتا ہے اور جنتی ہونے کا گمان نہیں کرتا، راوی کہتے ہیں : حضرت عبداللہ (رض) نے ارشاد فرمایا : اگر میں ان دونوں میں سے ایک کہوں گا تو ساتھ ہی دوسری بات بھی کہوں گا، تو حارث نے کہا : ہم اللہ ہی کے لیے ہیں اور ہم نے اس کی طرف ہی لوٹ کر جانا ہے ! اللہ معاذ (رض) پر رحمت فرمائے !۔ آپ (رض) نے پوچھا : ہلاکت ہو، کون معاذ ؟ انھوں نے کہا : معاذ بن جبل (رض) ۔ آپ (رض) نے پوچھا : انھوں نے کیا فرمایا تھا ؟ حارث نے کہا : تم عالم کی غلطیوں سے بچے۔ پس میں اللہ کی قسم اٹھا کر کہتا ہوں کہ اے ابن مسعود (رض) آپ غلطی پر ہیں۔ نہیں ہے ایمان مگر یہ کہ ہم اللہ پر ایمان لائیں، اور اس کے فرشتوں پر اور اس کی کتابوں پر اور اس کے رسولوں پر ، اور آخرت کے دن پر، اور جنت اور جہنم پر، اور مرنے کے بعد اٹھنے پر، اور ترازو پر، اور ہمارے کچھ گناہ ہوتے ہیں ہم نہیں جانتے کہ اللہ نے ان کے بارے میں کیا معاملہ فرمایا پس اگر ہم جان لیں کہ ہمارے ان گناہوں کو معاف کردیا تو ہم ضرور کہیں گے کہ ہم جنتی ہیں۔ تو حضرت عبداللہ (رض) نے فرمایا : تم نے سچ کہا۔ اللہ کی قسم میں غلطی پر تھا۔
Hazrat Haris bin Umair Zubaydi farmate hain ki jab Sham mein taun phayla to Hazrat Muaz (Razi Allah Anhu) Hums ke maqam par khutba dene ke liye khare hue aur irshad farmaya: Yeh taun tumhare Rab ki rehmat hai, aur tumhare Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki dua hai. Aur tumse pehle ke nek logon ki maut hai. Aye Allah! Aal-e-Muaz ko is mein se poora poora hissa ata farma. Ravi kehte hain: Jab aap (Razi Allah Anhu) mimbar se neeche utre to ek aane wale ne aa kar khabar di: Beshak Abdur Rahman bin Muaz taun mein mubtala ho gaye. To aap (Razi Allah Anhu) ne farmaya: Hum Allah hi ke liye hain aur hum uski taraf hi laut kar jaane wale hain. Ravi farmate hain. Phir aap (Razi Allah Anhu) uski taraf chale: Ravi kehte hain jab Abdur Rahman ne aapko aate hue dekha to farmaya: Beshak yahi haq hai tere Rab ki taraf se pas tum hargiz shak karne walon mein se mat hona, Ravi kehte hain: Phir aap (Razi Allah Anhu) ne yeh ayat padhi: Zaroor payenge aap Insha Allah sabron mein se. Ravi farmate hain: Pas Aal-e-Muaz ek ek fard kar ke margaye yahan tak ki Hazrat Muaz (Razi Allah Anhu) un mein se akhir mein reh gaye. Ravi farmate hain: Phir aap (Razi Allah Anhu) bhi taun mein mubtala ho gaye. To Haris bin Umair Zubaydi aapke pas aaye. Ravi farmate hain: Hazrat Muaz (Razi Allah Anhu) par behoshhi tari ho gayi. Jab aap (Razi Allah Anhu) ko hosh aaya to Haris ro rahe the to Hazrat Muaz (Razi Allah Anhu) ne farmaya: Tumhe kis cheez ne rula diya? Haris ne kaha: Mein is ilm ke zaya hone par ro raha hun jo aapke sath dafan ho jayega. Aap (Razi Allah Anhu) ne farmaya: Agar tu ilm ka talib hai to koi mushkil nahin pas tu Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood (Razi Allah Anhu) se isko talab kar, aur Uwaimir Abu Darda se, aur Salman Farsi (Razi Allah Anhu) se, aur farmaya: Tum alim ki ghaltiyon se bacho. Haris kehte hain mein ne poocha: Mein kaise uski ghalti ko pehchanun? (Allah aapko tandarust farmaye) Aap (Razi Allah Anhu) ne farmaya: Yaqeenan haq ke liye noor hota hai jis ke zariye woh pehchan liya jata hai. Ravi farmate hain: Phir Hazrat Muaz (Razi Allah Anhu) ki wafat ho gayi, aur Haris Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood (Razi Allah Anhu) ki gharz se Kufa ki taraf nikle. Jab unke darwaze par pahunche. To dekha wahan Hazrat Abdullah (Razi Allah Anhu) ke ashaab ka giroh darwaze par bahes o mubahesa kar rahe hain. Ravi farmate hain ki unke darmiyan baat cheet jari thi yahan tak ki woh kehne lage, aye Shami bhai: Kya tum momin ho? Aap (Razi Allah Anhu) ne kaha ji haan! Phir unhon ne poocha: Jannatiyon mein se ho? Aap (Razi Allah Anhu) ne kaha: Yaqeenan mere se kuch gunah sarzad hue hain mein nahin janta ki Allah ne un gunahon ka kya mamla kiya, pas agar mujhe maloom hota ki mere in gunahon ko maaf kar diya gaya hai, to mein tumhe zaroor batata ki beshak mein jannati hun. Ravi farmate hain: Hum isi darmiyan mein the ki Hazrat Abdullah (Razi Allah Anhu) hamare pas tashreef le aaye, to unke ashaab ne unse kaha: Kya aap taajjub nahin karte hamare is Shami bhai par jo momin hone ka guman to karta hai aur jannati hone ka guman nahin karta, Ravi kehte hain: Hazrat Abdullah (Razi Allah Anhu) ne irshad farmaya: Agar mein in donon mein se ek kahunga to sath hi dusri baat bhi kahunga, to Haris ne kaha: Hum Allah hi ke liye hain aur humne uski taraf hi laut kar jana hai! Allah Muaz (Razi Allah Anhu) par rehmat farmaye!. Aap (Razi Allah Anhu) ne poocha: Halakat ho, kaun Muaz? Unhon ne kaha: Muaz bin Jabal (Razi Allah Anhu). Aap (Razi Allah Anhu) ne poocha: Unhon ne kya farmaya tha? Haris ne kaha: Tum alim ki ghaltiyon se bache. Pas mein Allah ki kasam utha kar kehta hun ki aye Ibn Masood (Razi Allah Anhu) aap ghalti par hain. Nahin hai imaan magar yeh ki hum Allah par imaan layen, aur uske farishton par aur uski kitaabon par aur uske rasulon par, aur akhirat ke din par, aur jannat aur jahannam par, aur marne ke baad uthne par, aur tarazu par, aur hamare kuch gunah hote hain hum nahin jante ki Allah ne unke bare mein kya mamla farmaya pas agar hum jaan len ki hamare in gunahon ko maaf kar diya to hum zaroor kahenge ki hum jannati hain. To Hazrat Abdullah (Razi Allah Anhu) ne farmaya: Tumne sach kaha. Allah ki kasam mein ghalti par tha.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ، عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ الزُّبَيْدِيِّ ، قَالَ : وَقَعَ الطَّاعُونُ بِالشَّامِّ فَقَامَ مُعَاذٌ بِحِمْصٍ فَخَطَبَهُمْ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ هَذَا الطَّاعُونَ رَحْمَةُ رَبِّكُمْ ، وَدَعْوَةُ نَبِيِّكُمْ ﷺ ، وَمَوْتُ الصَّالِحِينَ قَبْلَكَمْ ، اللَّهُمَّ اقْسِمْ لِآلِ مُعَاذٍ نَصِيبَهُمُ الْأَوْفَى مِنْهُ "، فَلَمَّا نَزَلَ عَنِ الْمِنْبَرِ أَتَاهُ آتٍ فَقَالَ : إِنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ مُعَاذٍ قَدْ أُصِيبَ ، فَقَالَ : « إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ »، قَالَ : ثُمَّ انْطَلَقَ نَحْوَهُ فَلَمَّا رَآهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ مُقْبِلًا ، قَالَ : إِنَّهُ ﴿ الْحَقُّ مِنْ رَبِّكَ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْمُمْتَرِينَ ﴾ [ البقرة : ١٤٧ ]، قَالَ : فَقَالَ : " يَا بُنَيَّ ﴿ سَتَجِدُنِي إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ مِنَ الصَّابِرِينَ ﴾ [ الصافات : ١٠٢ ] "، قَالَ : فَمَاتَ آلُ مُعَاذٍ إِنْسَانًا إِنْسَانًا حَتَّى كَانَ مُعَاذٌ آخِرَهُمْ ، قَالَ : فَأُصِيبَ فَأَتَاهُ الْحَارِثُ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ الزُّبَيْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : فَأُغْشِيَ عَلَى مُعَاذٍ غَشْيَةً ، قَالَ : فَأَفَاقَ مُعَاذٌ وَالْحَارِثُ يَبْكِي ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ مُعَاذٌ : « مَا يُبْكِيكَ ؟»، قَالَ : أَبْكِي عَلَى الْعِلْمِ الَّذِي يُدْفَنُ مَعَكَ ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ : فَإِنْ كُنْتَ طَالِبًا لِلْعِلْمِ لَا مَحَالَةَ فَاطْلُبْهُ مِنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ وَمِنْ عُوَيْمِرٍ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ ، وَمِنْ سَلْمَانَ الْفَارِسِيِّ "، قَالَ : « وَإِيَّاكَ وَزَلَّةَ الْعَالِمِ »، قَالَ : فَقُلْتُ : وَكَيْفَ لِي أَصْلَحَكَ اللَّهُ أَنْ أَعْرِفَهَا ؟، قَالَ : « إِنَّ لِلْحَقِّ نُورًا يُعْرَفُ بِهِ » قَالَ: فَمَاتَ مُعَاذٌ وَخَرَجَ الْحَارِثُ يُرِيدُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ بِالْكُوفَةِ، فَقَالَ: فَانْتَهَى إِلَى بَابِهِ فَإِذَا عَلَى الْبَابِ نَفَرٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَتَحَدَّثُونَ، قَالَ: فَجَرَى بَيْنَهُمُ الْحَدِيثُ حَتَّى قَالُوا: يَا شَامِيُّ أَمُؤْمِنٌ أَنْتَ؟، قَالَ: نَعَمْ، فَقَالُوا: مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ؟، قَالَ: فَقَالَ: إِنَّ لِي ذُنُوبًا لَا أَدْرِي مَا يَصْنَعُ اللَّهُ فِيهَا، فَلَوْ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّهَا غُفِرَتْ لِي لَأَنْبَأْتُكُمْ أَنِّي مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ، قَالَ: فَبَيْنَمَا هُمْ كَذَلِكَ إِذْ خَرَجَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، فَقَالُوا لَهُ: أَلَّا تَعْجَبُ مِنْ أَخِينَا هَذَا الشَّامِيِّ يَزْعُمُ أَنَّهُ مُؤْمِنٌ وَيَزْعُمُ أَنَّهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ، فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ: «لَوْ قُلْتُ إِحْدَاهُمَا لَاتَّبَعَتْهَا الْأُخْرَى»، قَالَ: فَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ: إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ، صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَى مُعَاذٍ، قَالَ: «وَيْحَكَ، وَمَنْ مُعَاذٌ؟»، قَالَ: مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ، قَالَ: «وَمَا قَالَ؟»، قَالَ: إِيَّاكَ وَزَلَّةَ الْعَالِمِ فَأَحْلِفُ بِاللَّهِ إِنَّهَا مِنْكَ لَزَلَّةٌ يَا ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ، وَمَا الْإِيمَانُ إِلَّا أَنَّا نُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ، وَمَلَائِكَتِهِ، وَكُتُبِهِ، وَرُسُلِهِ، وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ، وَالْجَنَّةِ، وَالنَّارِ، وَالْبَعْثِ، وَالْمِيزَانِ، وَإِنَّ لَنَا ذُنُوبًا لَا نَدْرِي مَا يَصْنَعُ اللَّهُ فِيهَا، فَلَوْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّهَا غُفِرَتْ لَنَا لَقُلْنَا: إِنَّا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ، فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ: «صَدَقْتَ وَاللَّهِ إِنْ كَانَتْ مِنِّي لَزَلَّةً»
