كِتَابُ الزُّهْدِ
The Words of Ubayd ibn Umayr
كَلَامُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ
Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 34991
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Ubaid bin Umair that when the winter season would come, he would say, "O people of the Quran! The night has become long for your prayers and the day has become short for your fasts. So understand the bounty."
حضرت عبید بن عمیر سے روایت ہے جب سردی کا موسم آتا تو وہ کہتے اے اہل قرآن ! تمہاری نمازوں کے لیے رات لمبی ہوگئی ہے اور تمہارے روزوں کے لیے دن چھوٹا ہوگیا ہے۔ پس تم غنیمت سمجھو۔
Hazrat Ubaid bin Umair se riwayat hai jab sardi ka mausam aata to woh kehte aye ahl e Quran! Tumhari namaazon ke liye raat lambi hogayi hai aur tumhare rozon ke liye din chhota hogaya hai. Pas tum ghanimat samjho.
عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إدْرِيسَ ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ يُقَالُ إذَا جَاءَ الشِّتَاءُ : يَا أَهْلَ الْقُرْآنِ طَالَ اللَّيْلُ لِصَلَاتِكُمْ ، وَقَصُرَ النَّهَارُ لِصِيَامِكُمْ ، فَاغْتَنِمُوا "
