كِتَابُ الزُّهْدِ
The Words of Ubayd ibn Umayr
كَلَامُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ

It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Ubaid bin Umair, he said: "When Allah Almighty intended to destroy the people of the elephant, He sent birds like swallows from the sea upon them. Each bird carried three stones, two in its claws and one in its beak." He (the Prophet) said: "So these birds came and lined up over the heads of the companions of the elephant, then they shrieked and dropped the stones that were in their beaks and claws. And whatever stone hit a man's head, it came out of his back, and on whatever part of the body it fell, it came out of the other side." The narrator said: "And Allah Almighty sent a strong wind that blew on the stones, so it increased their intensity even more, so all the people perished."
حضرت عبید بن عمیر سے روایت ہے وہ کہتے ہیں کہ جب اللہ تعالیٰ نے اصحاب الفیل کو ہلاک کرنے کا ارادہ فرمایا تو ان پر سمندر سے پیدا کردہ ابابیلوں کے مثل پرندے بھیجے۔ ان میں سے ہر ایک پرندے نے تین سفید و سیاہ پتھر اٹھائے ہوئے تھے۔ دو پتھر اس کے پنجوں میں اور ایک پتھر اس کی چونچ میں۔ آپ (رض) فرماتے ہیں : پس یہ پرندے آئے۔ یہاں تک کہ انھوں نے ان اصحاب الفیل کے سروں پر صف بنا لی پھر چیخ ماری اور اپنی چونچوں اور پنجوں میں موجود پتھروں کو گرا دیا۔ جو پتھر بھی کسی آدمی کے سر پر لگتا وہ اس کی دبر سے باہر نکل آتا اور جسم کے جس حصہ پر بھی پڑتا دوسرے حصہ سے باہر آجاتا۔ راوی کہتے ہیں اور اللہ تعالیٰ نے شدید ہوا بھیجی جو پتھروں پر لگی تو اس نے (ان کی) شدت کو اور زیادہ کردیا پس وہ سارے لوگ ہلاک ہوگئے۔
Hazrat Ubaid bin Umair se riwayat hai woh kehte hain ke jab Allah Ta'ala ne Ashab-e-Fil ko halak karne ka irada farmaya to un par samandar se paida kardah ababeelon ke misl parinde bheje. In mein se har ek parinde ne teen sufaid o siyah pathar uthaye huye thy. Do pathar us ke panjon mein aur ek pathar us ki chonch mein. Aap (RA) farmate hain : Pas ye parinde aaye. Yahan tak ke unhon ne un Ashab-e-Fil ke saron par saf bana li phir cheekh maari aur apni chonchon aur panjon mein mojood patharon ko gira diya. Jo pathar bhi kisi aadmi ke sar par lagta woh us ki dibar se bahar nikal aata aur jism ke jis hissa par bhi parta dusre hissa se bahar aata. Ravi kehte hain aur Allah Ta'ala ne shadeed hawa bhi bheji jo patharon par lagi to us ne (un ki) shiddat ko aur ziada kardiya pas woh sare log halak hogaye.
أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : " لَمَّا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ أَنْ يَهْلِكَ أَصْحَابَ الْفِيلِ بَعَثَ عَلَيْهِمْ طَيْرًا أُنْشِئَتْ مِنْ الْبَحْرِ أَمْثَالَ الْخَطَاطِيفِ ، كُلُّ طَيْرٍ مِنْهَا يَحْمِلُ ثَلَاثَةَ أَحْجَارٍ مُجَزَّعَةٍ : حَجَرَيْنِ فِي رِجْلَيْهِ وَحَجَرًا فِي مِنْقَارِهِ "، قَالَ : « فَجَاءَتْ حَتَّى صُفَّتْ عَلَى رُءُوسهمْ ، ثُمَّ صَاحَتْ وَأَلْقَتْ مَا فِي أَرْجُلِهَا وَمَنَاقِيرِهَا ، فَمَا يَقَعُ حَجَرٌ عَلَى رَأْسِ رَجُلٍ إلَّا خَرَجَ مِنْ دُبُرِهِ ، وَلَا يَقَعُ عَلَى شَيْءٍ مِنْ جَسَدِهِ إلَّا خَرَجَ مِنْ الْجَانِبِ الْآخَرِ »، قَالَ : « وَبَعَثَ اللَّهُ رِيحًا شَدِيدَةً ، فَضَرَبَتْ الْحِجَارَةَ فَزَادَتْهَا شِدَّةً ، فَأُهْلِكُوا جَمِيعًا »
