كِتَابُ الزُّهْدِ
The Words of al-Hasan al-Basri
كَلَامُ الْحَسَنِ الْبَصْرِيِّ
Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 35271
It is narrated on the authority of Hadrat Maimun (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said that a person cannot become pious until he holds himself accountable even more strictly than he holds his partner accountable. To the extent that he sees where his food comes from, where his drink comes from, where his clothes come from? “
حضرت میمون سے روایت ہے وہ کہتے ہیں کہ کوئی آدمی تب تک متقی نہیں بن سکتا جب تک کہ وہ اپنے نفس سے اس سے بھی سخت محاسبہ نہ کرے جیسا وہ اپنے شریک سے کرتا ہے۔ یہاں تک کہ وہ دیکھے کہ اس کا کھانا، اس کا پینا، اس کا لباس کہاں سے ہے ؟ “
Hazrat Maimoon se riwayat hai woh kehte hain ke koi aadmi tab tak muttaqi nahi ban sakta jab tak ke woh apne nafs se us se bhi sakht muhasiba na kare jaisa woh apne shareek se karta hai yahan tak ke woh dekhe ke us ka khana us ka peena us ka libas kahan se hai
حُدِّثْنَا ، عَنْ جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ مَيْمُونٍ قَالَ : « لَا يَكُونُ الرَّجُلُ تَقِيًّا حَتَّى يُحَاسِبَ نَفْسَهُ أَشَدَّ مِنْ مُحَاسَبَةِ الرَّجُلِ شَرِيكَهُ ، حَتَّى يَنْظُرَ مِنْ أَيْنَ مَطْعَمُهُ ، وَمَشْرَبُهُ ، وَمَكْسَبُهُ »
