كِتَابُ الزُّهْدِ
What They Said About Crying Out of Fear of Allah
مَا قَالُوا فِي الْبُكَاءِ مِنْ خَشْيَةِ اللَّهِ

Hazrat Ibn Buraidah narrated that if the crying of all the people of the earth were compared to the crying of Dawud (peace be upon him), it would still not be equal. And if the crying of Dawud (peace be upon him) and the crying of all the people of the earth were compared to the crying of Adam (peace be upon him) when he was sent down to earth, then the crying of Adam (peace be upon him) would be greater.
حضرت ابن بریدہ کا ارشاد ہے کہ اگر تمام روئے زمین والوں کے رونے کا داؤد (علیہ السلام) کے رونے سے تقابل کیا جائے تو پھر بھی اس کے برابر نہیں ہوسکتا اور اگر داؤد (علیہ السلام) کے رونے کا اور تمام زمین والوں کے رونے کا آدم (علیہ السلام) کے رونے سے تقابل کیا جائے جس وقت ان کو زمین کی طرف اتار دیا گیا تھا تو پھر آدم (علیہ السلام) کا رونا بڑھ جائے گا۔
Hazrat Ibn Buraidah ka irshad hai ki agar tamam ruye zameen walon ke rone ka Daud (alaihis salam) ke rone se taqabul kiya jaye to phir bhi iske barabar nahi hosakta aur agar Daud (alaihis salam) ke rone ka aur tamam zameen walon ke rone ka Adam (alaihis salam) ke rone se taqabul kiya jaye jis waqt in ko zameen ki taraf utaar diya gaya tha to phir Adam (alaihis salam) ka rona barh jayega.
مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مِسْعَرٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عَلْقَمَةُ بْنُ مَرْثَدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ ، قَالَ : « لَوْ عُدِلَ بُكَاءُ أَهْلِ الْأَرْضِ بِبُكَاءِ دَاوُدَ مَا عَدَلَهُ ، وَلَوْ عُدِلَ بُكَاءُ دَاوُدَ وَبُكَاءُ أَهْلِ الْأَرْضِ بِبُكَاءِ آدَمَ حِينَ أُهْبِطَ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ مَا عَدَلَهُ »
