What They Said About Crying Out of Fear of Allah

Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the bearer of the Quran should be recognized by his night when people are sleeping, and by his day when people are starting their morning, and by his grief when people are rejoicing, and by his crying when people are laughing, and by his silence when people are engaged in conversations, and by his humility when people are arrogant, and it is befitting for the bearer of the Quran to be a weeper, sorrowful, patient, wise, and quiet-natured, and it is not befitting for the bearer of the Quran (Hazrat Abu Bakr said that these words were spoken) to be a troublemaker, a screamer, and an angry person.
حضرت عبداللہ بن مسعود (رض) کا اشاد ہے کہ حامل قرآن کو چاہیے کہ وہ اپنی رات سے پہچانا جائے جس وقت لوگ سو رہے ہوں اور اپنے دن سے بھی پہچانا جائے جس وقت لوگ صبح کا آغاز کررہے ہوں اور اپنے غم سے پہچانا جائے جب لوگ خوش ہو رہے ہوں، اور اپنے رونے سے پہچانا جائے جب لوگ ہنس رہے ہوں، اور اپنی خاموشی سے پہچانا جائے جس وقت لوگ باتوں میں مشغول ہوں، اور اپنے خشوع سے پہچانا جائے جس وقت لوگ تکبر کرتے ہوں اور حامل قرآن کے لیے مناسب ہے کہ وہ رونے والا، غمگین، بردبار، حکمت والا اور خاموش طبع ہو اور حامل قرآن کے لیے مناسب نہیں کہ وہ (حضرت ابوبکر فرماتے ہیں کہ یہ کلمات فرمائے) شور مچانے والا اور چیخنے چلانے والا اور غصہ کرنے والا ہو۔
Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood (RA) ka irshad hai keh hamil Quran ko chahiye keh woh apni raat se pehchana jaye jis waqt log so rahe hon aur apne din se bhi pehchana jaye jis waqt log subah ka aaghaz kar rahe hon aur apne gham se pehchana jaye jab log khush ho rahe hon, aur apne rone se pehchana jaye jab log hans rahe hon, aur apni khamoshi se pehchana jaye jis waqt log baaton mein masghul hon, aur apne khushoo se pehchana jaye jis waqt log takabbur karte hon aur hamil Quran ke liye munasib hai keh woh ronay wala, ghamgeen, barrdar, hikmat wala aur khamosh tab ho aur hamil Quran ke liye munasib nahi keh woh (Hazrat Abu Bakar farmate hain keh yeh kalmat farmaye) shor machanay wala aur cheekhnay chilane wala aur gussa karne wala ho.
الْمُحَارِبِيُّ ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ مِغْوَلٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو يَعْفُورٍ ، عَنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، قَالَ : « يَنْبَغِي لِحَامِلِ الْقُرْآنِ أَنْ يُعْرَفَ بِلَيْلِهِ إِذَا النَّاسُ نَائِمُونَ ، وَبِنَهَارِهِ إِذَا النَّاسُ مُفْطِرُونَ ، وَبِحُزْنِهِ إِذَا النَّاسُ يَفْرَحُونَ ، وَلِبُكَائِهِ إِذَا النَّاسُ يَضْحَكُونَ ، وَبِصَمْتِهِ إِذَا النَّاسُ يَخْلِطُونَ ، وَبِخُشُوعِهِ إِذَا النَّاسُ يَخْتَالُونَ ، وَيَنْبَغِي لِحَامِلِ الْقُرْآنِ أَنْ يَكُونَ بَاكِيًا مَحْزُونًا حَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا سِكِّيتًا ، وَلَا يَنْبَغِي لِحَامِلِ الْقُرْآنِ أَنْ يَكُونَ » قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ ذَكَرَ كَلِمَةً ، لَا صَخَّابًا وَلَا صَيَّاحًا وَلَا حَدِيدًا
