What They Mentioned About the People of Najran and What the Prophet ﷺ Intended
مَا ذَكَرُوا فِي أَهْلِ نَجْرَانَ وَمَا أَرَادَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ

Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 37016
It is narrated from Hazrat Yahya bin Saeed that Hazrat Umar exiled the people of Najran.... Jews, Christians.... and bought their lands and grape vines and Hazrat Umar made a deal with them (from them this) that if they themselves provide the oxen and plowing equipment, then they will get two-thirds (of the produce) and Hazrat Umar will get one-third and if Hazrat Umar provides the seeds, then they will get half the share. And Hazrat Umar made a deal with them regarding dates on the condition that one-fifth (of the produce) will be theirs and four-fifths will belong to Hazrat Umar.... And he made a deal with them regarding grapes on the condition that their share will be one-third and Hazrat Umar's share will be two-thirds.
حضرت یحییٰ بن سعید سے روایت ہے کہ حضرت عمر نے اہل نجران ۔۔۔ یہودو نصاریٰ ۔۔۔ کو جلا وطن کیا اور ان کی زمینوں اور انگوروں کی بیلوں کو خرید لیا اور حضرت عمر نے (ان سے یہ) معاملہ کیا کہ اگر وہ بیل اور ہل کا سامان خود مہیا کریں تو ان کو (پیداوار کا) دو ثلث اور حضرت عمر کو ایک ثلث ملے گا اور اگر حضرت عمر بیج مہیا کریں تو ان کو نصف حصہ ملے گا۔ اور حضرت عمر نے ان کے ساتھ کھجوروں کا اس شرط پر معاملہ کیا کہ (پیداوار کا) ایک خمس ان کا ہوگا اور چار خمس حضرت عمر کے ہوں گے ۔۔۔ اور انگوروں میں ان کے ساتھ اس شرط پر معاملہ کیا کہ ان کا حصہ ایک ثلث ہوگا اور حضرت عمر کا حصہ دو ثلث ہوں گے۔
Hazrat Yahya bin Saeed se riwayat hai ki Hazrat Umar ne ahl Najran ... yahud o nasara ... ko jala watan kiya aur un ki zameenon aur anguron ki belon ko khareed liya aur Hazrat Umar ne (un se yeh) mamla kiya ki agar woh bail aur hal ka saman khud muhayya karen to un ko (paidawar ka) do suth aur Hazrat Umar ko ek suth milay ga aur agar Hazrat Umar beej muhayya karen to un ko nisf hissa milay ga. Aur Hazrat Umar ne un ke sath khajuron ka is shart par mamla kiya ki (paidawar ka) ek khums un ka hoga aur chaar khums Hazrat Umar ke honge ... aur anguron mein un ke sath is shart par mamla kiya ki un ka hissa ek suth hoga aur Hazrat Umar ka hissa do suth honge.
أَبُو خَالِدٍ الْأَحْمَرُ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ أَجْلَى أَهْلَ نَجْرَانَ الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارَى ، « وَاشْتَرَى بَيَاضَ أَرْضِهِمْ وَكُرُومِهِمْ ، فَعَامَلَ عُمَرُ النَّاسَ إِنْ هُمْ جَاءُوا بِالْبَقَرِ وَالْحَدِيدِ مِنْ عِنْدِهِمْ فَلَهُمُ الثُّلُثَانِ وَلِعُمَرَ الثُّلُثُ ، وَإِنْ جَاءَ عُمَرُ بِالْبَذْرِ مِنْ عِنْدِهِ فَلَهُ الشَّطْرُ ، وَعَامَلَهُمُ النَّخْلَ عَلَى أَنَّ لَهُمُ الْخُمُسَ وَلِعُمَرَ أَرْبَعَةُ أَخْمَاسٍ ، وَعَامَلَهُمُ الْكَرْمَ عَلَى أَنَّ لَهُمُ الثُّلُثَ وَلِعُمَرَ الثُّلُثَانِ »
