كِتَابُ الصِّيَامِ
What they said about the length of the month being thirty days
مَا قَالُوا فِي الشَّهْرِ كَمْ هُوَ يَوْمًا
Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 9613
Hazrat Waleed bin Utbah said that we fasted for twenty-eight days in Ramadan during the time of Hazrat Ali without seeing the moon. On the day of Eid al-Fitr, he ordered us to make up for one fast.
حضرت ولید بن عتبہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم نے حضرت علی کے زمانے میں چاند دیکھے بغیر رمضان میں اٹھائیس دن روزے رکھے۔ عید الفطر کے دن انھوں نے ہمیں ایک روزے کی قضا کا حکم دیا۔
Hazrat Walid bin Utba kehte hain ke hum ne Hazrat Ali ke zamane mein chand dekhe baghair Ramzan mein atthais din roze rakhe. Eid-ul-Fitr ke din unhon ne humain ek roze ki qaza ka hukum diya.
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ ، قَالَ : صُمْنَا رَمَضَانَ فِي عَهْدِ عَلِيٍّ عَلَى غَيْرِ رُؤْيَةِ ثَمَانِيَةٍ وَعِشْرِينَ يَوْمًا ، فَلَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْفِطْرِ « أَمَرَنَا أَنْ نَقْضِيَ يَوْمًا »
