Chapter: Judgements For Cases Involving Bloodshed

باب الْحُكْمِ فِي الدِّمَاءِ ‏.‏

Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1396

Abdullah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘indeed the first cases to be judged between the people are those of bloodshed.’ Imam Tirmidhi said, the Hadith of Abdullah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) is Hasan Sahih. This is how it was reported by more than one narrator, from AlA'mash in Marfu' form. Some of them reported it from Al-A'mash without narrating it Marfu'. There is another chain for this Hadith from Abdullah who narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘indeed the first cases to be judged between the worshippers are those of bloodshed.’

عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ” ( آخرت میں ) بندوں کے درمیان سب سے پہلے خون کے بارے میں فیصلہ کیا جائے گا“ ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- عبداللہ کی حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، اسی طرح کئی لوگوں نے اعمش سے مرفوعاً روایت کی ہے، ۲- اور بعض نے اعمش سے روایت کی ہے ان لوگوں نے اسے مرفوع نہیں کہا ہے۔

Abdul-Allah bin Mas'ood (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke Rasool-Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: " ( Aakhirat mein ) bandon ke darmiyan sab se pehle khoon ke bare mein faisla kiya jayega" 1؎. Imam Tirmidhi kehte hain: 1. Abdul-Allah ki hadees hasan sahih hai, isi tarah kai logoon ne A'mash se marfoo'an riwayat ki hai, 2. aur ba'az ne A'mash se riwayat ki hai in logoon ne ise marfoo' nahin kaha hai.

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ أَوَّلَ مَا يُحْكَمُ بَيْنَ الْعِبَادِ فِي الدِّمَاءِ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ،‏‏‏‏ وَهَكَذَا رَوَى غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ مَرْفُوعًا،‏‏‏‏ وَرَوَى بَعْضُهُمْ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ وَلَمْ يَرْفَعُوهُ.

Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1397

Abdullah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Indeed the first cases to be judged between the worshippers are those of bloodshed.


Grade: Sahih

عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ” ( آخرت میں ) بندوں کے درمیان سب سے پہلے خون کا فیصلہ کیا جائے گا“۔

Abd-al-laah bin Mas'ood radiya Allaahu anhu kehte hain ke Rasool-ul-laah salla Allaahu alaihi wa sallam ne farmaya: " ( aakhirat mein ) bandon ke darmiyan sab se pehle khoon ka faisla kiya jaega".

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ أَوَّلَ مَا يُقْضَى بَيْنَ الْعِبَادِ فِي الدِّمَاءِ .

Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1398

Abul Hakam Al-Bajali narrated that he heard Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri (رضي الله تعالى عنه) and Abu Hurairah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) mentioning from the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) that he said, 'if the inhabitants of the heavens and the inhabitants of the earth all took part in shedding the blood of believer, then Allah would cast them (all) in the Fire.’ Imam Tirmidhi said, this Hadith is Gharib. Abu Al-Hakam Al-Bajali (a narrator in the chain) is Abdur Rahman bin Abi Nu’am Al-Kufi.

ابو سعید خدری اور ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”اگر آسمان اور زمین والے ( سارے کے سارے ) ایک مومن کے خون میں ملوث ہو جائیں تو اللہ ان ( سب ) کو اوندھے منہ جہنم میں ڈال دے گا“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث غریب ہے۔

Abu Saeed Khudri aur Abu Hurairah ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se riwayat hai ke Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: "Agar aasman aur zamin walay ( saaray kay saaray ) ek momin ke khoon mein maloos ho jaayen to Allah in ( sab ) ko ondhay munh jahannam mein daal de ga"۔ Imam Tirmidhi kehte hain: yeh hadees gharib hai.

حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حُرَيْثٍ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ يَزِيدَ الرَّقَاشِيِّ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْحَكَمِ الْبَجَلِيُّ، قَال:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ،‏‏‏‏ وَأَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ،‏‏‏‏ يَذْكُرَانِ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَوْ أَنَّ أَهْلَ السَّمَاءِ،‏‏‏‏ وَأَهْلَ الْأَرْضِ،‏‏‏‏ اشْتَرَكُوا فِي دَمِ مُؤْمِنٍ،‏‏‏‏ لَأَكَبَّهُمُ اللَّهُ فِي النَّارِ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ.
