Abdullah bin Sarjis Al-Muzam (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘taking the good route is a part of the twenty-four parts of Prophethood.’ Imam Tirmidhi said, this Hadith is Hasan Gharib. There is something on this topic from Ibn Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه). There is another chain for this Hadith from Abdullah bin Sarjis, from the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) without mentioning ‘from Asim’ in it, and what is correct is the narration of Nasr bin Ali (a narrator in the chain of this Hadith).

عبداللہ بن سرجس مزنی رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”اچھی خصلت، غور و خوص کرنا اور میانہ روی نبوت کے چوبیس حصوں میں سے ایک حصہ ہے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن غریب ہے، ۲- اس باب میں ابن عباس رضی الله عنہما سے بھی روایت ہے۔
Abdullah bin Sarjas Mazni (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se riwayat hai keh Nabi Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: “Achhi khaslat, ghor o khos karna aur myana rawi nabowat ke chobees hisson mein se ek hissa hai”. Imam Tirmidhi kehte hain: 1- Yeh hadees hasan gharib hai, 2- Is baab mein Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se bhi riwayat hai.
حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا نُوحُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عِمْرَانَ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْأَحْوَلِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَرْجِسَ الْمُزَنِيِّ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: السَّمْتُ الْحَسَنُ وَالتُّؤَدَةُ وَالِاقْتِصَادُ جُزْءٌ مِنْ أَرْبَعَةٍ وَعِشْرِينَ جُزْءًا مِنَ النُّبُوَّةِ ، قَالَ: وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ.
