Imran bin Husain (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) recited, [You shall see mankind as if in a drunken state, yet they will not be in a drunken state.] (Al-Hajj - 2) Imam Tirmidhi said, this Hadith is Hasan. This is how Al-Hakam bin Abdul-Malik reported it from Qatadah. And we do not know that Qatadah heard from any of the Companions of the Prophet except from Anas and Abu At-Tufail. To me, this Hadith is abridged. It was on a journey, and he recited – [O you people, have Taqwa of your Lord] (An-Nisa - 1), and he mentioned the Hadith in its entirety. So, to me, the narration of Al-Hakam bin Abdul-Malik is an abbreviation of this Hadith, only reported from Qatadah, from Al-Hasan from 'Imran bin Husain who said, ‘we were with the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم).

عمران بن حصین رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے پڑھا: «وترى الناس سكارى وما هم بسكارى» ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن ہے، ۲- قتادہ صحابہ میں سے انس ابوطفیل کے علاوہ کسی اور صحابی سے ہم سماع نہیں جانتے، ۳- یہ روایت میرے نزدیک مختصر ہے۔ پوری روایت اس طرح ہے: روایت کی گئی قتادہ سے، قتادہ نے روایت کی حسن بصری سے، اور حسن بصری نے روایت کی عمران بن حصین سے، ہم نبی ﷺ کے ساتھ سفر میں تھے تو آپ نے آیت «يا أيها الناس اتقوا ربكم» ۲؎ پڑھی، ( آگے ) پوری حدیث بیان کی، ۴- حکم بن عبدالملک کی حدیث میرے نزدیک اس حدیث سے مختصر ہے۔
Imran bin Haseen (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne padha: «Watri al-nas sakari wa ma hum bisakari» 1؎. Imam Tirmizi kehte hain: 1. yeh hadees hasan hai, 2. Qatada sahaba mein se Anas Abu Tufail ke alawa kisi aur sahabi se hum sama' nahi jante, 3. yeh riwayat mere nazdeek mukhassar hai. Puri riwayat is tarah hai: Riwayat ki gayi Qatada se, Qatada ne riwayat ki Hassan Basri se, aur Hassan Basri ne riwayat ki Imran bin Haseen se, hum Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke sath safar mein the to aap ne aayat «Ya ayyuha al-nas ittaqu rabbakum» 2؎ padhi, ( aage ) puri hadees bayan ki, 4. Hukm bin Abdul Malik ki hadees mere nazdeek is hadees se mukhassar hai.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، وَالْفَضْلُ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، وَغَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ، قَالُوا: حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: قَرَأَ وَتَرَى النَّاسَ سُكَارَى وَمَا هُمْ بِسُكَارَى سورة الحج آية 2 ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ، وَلَا نَعْرِفُ لِقَتَادَةَ سَمَاعًا مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَّا مِنْ أَنَسٍ، وَأَبِي الطُّفَيْلِ، وَهَذَا عِنْدِي حَدِيثٌ مُخْتَصَرٌ، إِنَّمَا يُرْوَى عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ، قَالَ: كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي السَّفَرٍ فَقَرَأَ يَأَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اتَّقُوا رَبَّكُمْ سورة الحج آية 1 ، الْحَدِيثَ بِطُولِهِ، وَحَدِيثُ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ عِنْدِي مُخْتَصَرٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ.
