Chapter: What Has Been Related About The Prophet's (saws) Advent [of Prophethood] And How Old He Was When He Was Sent

باب فِي مَبْعَثِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَابْنُ كَمْ كَانَ حِينَ بُعِثَ ‏

Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3621

Ibn Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) received revelation when he was forty years old. So, he stayed in Makkah for thirteen years and in Al-Madinah for ten. And he died when he was sixty-three years old.’ Imam Tirmidhi said, this Hadith is Hasan Sahih.

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ پر وحی نازل کی گئی تو آپ چالیس سال کے تھے، پھر آپ مکہ میں تیرہ سال تک رہے اور مدینہ میں دس سال تک، اور آپ کی وفات ہوئی تو آپ ترسٹھ ( ۶۳ ) سال کے تھے۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے۔

Abdul-Allah bin Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a kehte hain ke Rasool-Allah sallal laahu alaihi wa sallam par wahi naazil ki gayi to aap chalis saal ke the, phir aap Makkah mein terah saal tak rahe aur Madinah mein das saal tak, aur aap ki wafat hui to aap tir-sath ( 63 ) saal ke the. Imam Tirmidhi kehte hain: yeh hadees hasan sahih hai.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أُنْزِلَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَرْبَعِينَ،‏‏‏‏ فَأَقَامَ بِمَكَّةَ ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ،‏‏‏‏ وَبِالْمَدِينَةِ عَشْرًا،‏‏‏‏ وَتُوُفِّيَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ ثَلَاثٍ وَسِتِّينَ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.

Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3622

Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) died when he was sixty-five years old.’ Imam Tirmidhi says: "In the same way, Muhammad bin Bashir narrated it to us, and Muhammad bin Ismail Bukhari narrated a similar report from him."


Grade: Da'if

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم ﷺ کی وفات ہوئی تو آپ پینسٹھ ( ۶۵ ) سال کے تھے ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: اسی طرح سے ہم سے محمد بن بشار نے بیان کیا ہے اور ان سے محمد بن اسماعیل بخاری نے اسی کے مثل روایت کی ہے۔

Abdul'lah bin Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a kehte hain ke Nabi-e-Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki wafat hui to aap paisatth (65) saal ke the 1؎. Imam Tirmidhi kehte hain: isi tarah se hum se Muhammad bin Bashar ne bayan kiya hai aur un se Muhammad bin Ismail Bukhari ne isi ke misal riwayat ki hai.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قُبِضَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ خَمْسٍ وَسِتِّينَ سَنَةً . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ وَهَكَذَا حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَرَوَى عَنْهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ.

Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3623

Anas bin Malik (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) was not very tall nor was short, nor was he pale white, nor was he brown, nor was the wave of his hair completely curly nor straight. Allah sent him at the beginning of his forties, and he stayed in Makkah for ten years, and in Al-Madinah for ten years. And Allah took him at the beginning of his sixties, and there were not more than twenty white hairs on his head or in his beard. Imam Tirmidhi said, this Hadith is Hasan Sahih.

انس رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نہ بہت لمبے قد والے تھے نہ بہت ناٹے اور نہ نہایت سفید، نہ بالکل گندم گوں، آپ کے سر کے بال نہ گھنگرالے تھے نہ بالکل سیدھے، اللہ تعالیٰ نے آپ کو چالیسویں سال کے شروع میں مبعوث فرمایا، پھر مکہ میں آپ دس برس رہے اور مدینہ میں دس برس اور ساٹھویں برس ۱؎ کے شروع میں اللہ نے آپ کو وفات دی اور آپ کے سر اور داڑھی میں بیس بال بھی سفید نہیں رہے ہوں گے۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے۔

Anas raza Allah un ho kehte hain ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) na bohat lambe qad wale the na bohat nate aur na nihayat safaid, na bilkul gandam goon, aap ke sar ke bal na ghungrale the na bilkul seedhe, Allah taala ne aap ko chaliswein saal ke shuru mein mabus farmaya, phir Makkah mein aap das baras rahe aur Madinah mein das baras aur sathwein baras 1 ke shuru mein Allah ne aap ko wafaat di aur aap ke sar aur darhi mein bees baal bhi safaid nahin rahe honge. Imam Tirmizi kehte hain: yah hadees hasan sahih hai.

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ. ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الْأَنْصَارِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْنٌ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ،‏‏‏‏ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أنَسًا يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ لَمْ يَكُنْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالطَّوِيلِ الْبَائِنِ وَلَا بِالْقَصِيرِ الْمُتَرَدِّدِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَا بِالْأَبْيَضِ الْأَمْهَقِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَا بِالْآدَمِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَيْسَ بِالْجَعْدِ الْقَطَطِ وَلَا بِالسَّبِطِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏بَعَثَهُ اللَّهُ عَلَى رَأْسِ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَقَامَ بِمَكَّةَ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَبِالْمَدِينَةِ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَتَوَفَّاهُ اللَّهُ عَلَى رَأْسِ سِتِّينَ سَنَةً وَلَيْسَ فِي رَأْسِهِ وَلِحْيَتِهِ عِشْرُونَ شَعْرَةً بَيْضَاءَ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.
