Chapter: Signs of the hour

باب أَمَارَاتِ السَّاعَةِ

Sunan Abi Dawud 4310

It was narrated that Abu Zur'ah said a group of people came to Marwan in A1-Madinah, and heard him narrating about the signs, and that the first of them would be the Dajjäl. He said, I went to Abdullah bin 'Amr and told him, and Abdullah said, he has not said anything (of importance). I heard the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) say, 'the first signs to appear will be the rising of the sun from its place of setting, or the (a) beast appearing to the people in the forenoon. Whichever of them appears before the other, the other will follow soon afterwards. Abdullah, who used to read books, said, ‘I think the first of them to appear will be the rising of the sun from its place of setting.’

ابوزرعہ کہتے ہیں کہ کچھ لوگ مروان کے پاس مدینہ آئے تو وہاں اسے ( قیامت کی ) نشانیوں کے متعلق بیان کرتے سنا کہ سب سے پہلی نشانی ظہور دجال کی ہو گی، تو میں عبداللہ بن عمرو رضی اللہ عنہما کے پاس گیا، اور ان سے اسے بیان کیا، تو عبداللہ نے صرف اتنا کہا کہ میں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ کو فرماتے سنا ہے کہ پہلی نشانی سورج کا پچھم سے طلوع ہونا ہے، یا بوقت چاشت لوگوں کے درمیان دابہ ( چوپایہ ) کا ظہور ہے، ان دونوں میں سے جو نشانی بھی پہلے واقع ہو دوسری بالکل اس سے متصل ہو گی، اور عبداللہ بن عمرو جن کے زیر مطالعہ آسمانی کتابیں رہا کرتی تھیں کہتے ہیں: میرا خیال ہے ان دونوں میں پہلے سورج کا پچھم سے نکلنا ہے۔

Abuzar'ah kehte hain ke kuchh log Marwan ke pas Madinah aaye to wahaan use (qiyaamat ki) nishaniyon ke mutalliq bayan karte suna ke sab se pehli nishani zuhoor dajjal ki hogi, to main Abdullah bin Amr radhiallahu anhuma ke pas gaya, aur un se isse bayan kiya, to Abdullah ne sirf itna kaha ke maine rasoolullah sallallahu alaihi wassalam ko farmate suna hai ke pehli nishani sooraj ka pachham se talu hoona hai, ya bwaqt chaash loggon ke darmiyan daba (chopiya) ka zuhoor hai, in dono mein se jo nishani bhi pehle waqia ho doosri bilkul us se muttasil hogi, aur Abdullah bin Amr jin ke zir mutal'ah aasmani kitabein raha karti thi kehte hain: mera khyal hai in dono mein pehle sooraj ka pachham se nikalna hai.

حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي حَيَّانَ التَّيْمِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ جَاءَ نَفَرٌ إِلَى مَرْوَانَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَسَمِعُوهُ يُحَدِّثُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فِي الْآيَاتِ أَنَّ أَوَّلَهَا الدَّجَّالُ قَالَ فَانْصَرَفْتُ إِلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو فَحَدَّثْتُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ:‏‏‏‏ لَمْ يَقُلْ شَيْئًا سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ أَوَّلَ الْآيَاتِ خُرُوجًا طُلُوعُ الشَّمْسِ مِنْ مَغْرِبِهَا أَوِ الدَّابَّةُ عَلَى النَّاسِ ضُحًى فَأَيَّتُهُمَا كَانَتْ قَبْلَ صَاحِبَتِهَا فَالْأُخْرَى عَلَى أَثَرِهَا ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ:‏‏‏‏ وَكَانَ يَقْرَأُ الْكُتُبَ وَأَظُنُّ أَوَّلَهُمَا خُرُوجًا طُلُوعُ الشَّمْسِ مِنْ مَغْرِبِهَا.

Sunan Abi Dawud 4311

Hudhaifah bin Asid al-Ansari (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that we were sitting in the shade of the chamber of the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) discussing (something) and when we mentioned the last hour, our voices rose high. The Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, the last hour will not come or happen until there appear ten signs before it, the rising of the sun in its place of setting, the coming forth of the beast, the coming forth of Yajooj and Majooj, the Dajjal (Antichrist), (the arrival of) Isa Ibn Maryam (عليه السالم), the smoke, and three collapses of the earth, one in the west, one in the east, and one in the Arabian Peninsula. The last of that will be the emergence of a fire from Yemen, from the lowest part of Aden, and drive mankind to their place of assembly.

حذیفہ بن اسید غفاری رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم رسول اللہ ﷺ کے کمرے کے زیر سایہ بیٹھے باتیں کر رہے تھے، ہم نے قیامت کا ذکر کیا تو ہماری آوازیں بلند ہو گئیں تو آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا: قیامت اس وقت تک نہیں ہو گی، یا قائم نہیں ہو گی جب تک کہ اس سے پہلے دس نشانیاں ظاہر نہ ہو جائیں: سورج کا پچھم سے طلوع ہونا، دابہ ( چوپایہ ) کا ظہور، یاجوج و ماجوج کا خروج، ظہور دجال، ظہور عیسیٰ بن مریم، ظہور دخان ( دھواں ) اور تین جگہوں: مغرب، مشرق اور جزیرہ عرب میں خسف ( دھنسنا ) اور سب سے آخر میں یمن کی طرف سے عدن کے گہرائی میں سے ایک آگ ظاہر ہو گی وہ ہانک کر لوگوں کو محشر کی طرف لے جائے گی ۔

Hazifa bin Asid Ghafari (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke hum Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke kamre ke zeer saya baithe baatein kar rahe the, hum ne qayamat ka zikr kiya to humari aawazain بلند ho gain to aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: Qayamat is waqt tak nahin hogi, ya qaim nahin hogi jab tak ke is se pehle das nishaniaan zahir nah ho jayen: Sooraj ka pachham se taloo ho na, daba ( chopaya ) ka zuhoor, yajooj wa majuuj ka khurooj, zuhoor dajjal, zuhoor Eisa bin Maryam, zuhoor dhukaan ( dhuwan ) aur teen jagahon: maghrib, mashriq aur jazira arab mein khasf ( dhansna ) aur sab se aakhir mein yaman ki taraf se adan ki gehraayi mein se ek aag zahir hogi woh hank kar logoon ko mahshar ki taraf le jaayegi.

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهَنَّادٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏المعنى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا فُرَاتٌ الْقَزَّازُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ وَاثِلَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَالَ هَنَّادٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي الطُّفَيْلِ،‏‏‏‏عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ أَسِيدٍ الْغِفَارِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كُنَّا قُعُودًا نَتَحَدَّثُ فِي ظِلِّ غُرْفَةٍ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَذَكَرْنَا السَّاعَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَارْتَفَعَتْ أَصْوَاتُنَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ لَنْ تَكُونَ أَوْ لَنْ تَقُومَ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يَكُونَ قَبْلَهَا عَشْرُ آيَاتٍ طُلُوعُ الشَّمْسِ مِنْ مَغْرِبِهَا وَخُرُوجُ الدَّابَّةِ وَخُرُوجُ يَأْجُوجَ وَمَأْجُوجَ وَالدَّجَّالُ وَعِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ وَالدُّخَانُ وَثَلَاثَةُ خُسُوفٍ:‏‏‏‏ خَسْفٌ بِالْمَغْرِبِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَخَسْفٌ بِالْمَشْرِقِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَخَسْفٌ بِجَزِيرَةِ الْعَرَبِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَآخِرُ ذَلِكَ تَخْرُجُ نَارٌ مِنْ الْيَمَنِ مِنْ قَعْرِ عَدَنَ تَسُوقُ النَّاسَ إِلَى الْمَحْشَرِ .

Sunan Abi Dawud 4312

Abu Hurairah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, the last hour will not come before rising of the sun in its place of setting. When it rises (there) and the people see it, those who are on it (the earth) will believe. This is the time of which the Quranic verse says – [The day when certain signs appear from your Lord, the embracing of faith shall not be of any avail to one who did not come to belief at first, or who did not perform good deeds by virtue of his faith.] (Al-An’am - 158)


Grade: Sahih

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: قیامت اس وقت تک قائم نہیں ہو گی جب تک سورج پچھم سے نہ نکل آئے، تو جب سورج نکلے گا اور لوگ اس کو دیکھ لیں گے تو جو بھی روئے زمین پر ہو گا ایمان لے آئے گا، لیکن یہی وہ وقت ہو گا جب کسی کو بھی جو اس سے پہلے ایمان نہ لے آیا ہو اور اپنے ایمان میں خیر نہ کما لیا ہو اس کا ایمان فائدہ نہ دے گا ۔

Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: Qiyamat is waqt tak qaim nahin hogi jab tak suraj pachham se na nikal aaye, to jab suraj niklega aur log is ko dekh lenge to jo bhi roo e zameen par hoga iman le aayega, lekin yahi woh waqt hoga jab kisi ko bhi jo is se pehle iman na le aaya ho aur apne iman mein khair na kama liya ho is ka iman faida na dega.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي شُعَيْبٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْفُضَيْلِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُمَارَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ مِنْ مَغْرِبِهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِذَا طَلَعَتْ وَرَآهَا النَّاسُ آمَنَ مَنْ عَلَيْهَا فَذَاكَ حِينَ لا يَنْفَعُ نَفْسًا إِيمَانُهَا لَمْ تَكُنْ آمَنَتْ مِنْ قَبْلُ أَوْ كَسَبَتْ فِي إِيمَانِهَا خَيْرًا سورة الأنعام آية 158 الْآيَةَ .
