بَابُ التَّطَاوُلِ فِي الْبُنْيَانِ

Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 449

Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "The Final Hour will not come until people compete with one another in the height of their buildings."


Grade: Sahih

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا:’’قیامت اس وقت تک قائم نہیں ہوگی یہاں تک لوگ عمارتیں بنانے میں ایک دوسرے سے مقابلہ بازی کریں۔‘‘

Hazrat Abu Huraira (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se riwayat hai ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: Qayamat us waqt tak qaem nahi hogi yahan tak log imaraten banane mein ek dusre se muqabla bazi karen.

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ‏:‏ لاَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يَتَطَاوَلَ النَّاسُ فِي الْبُنْيَانِ‏.‏

Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 450

Al-Hasan said, "I used to go into the houses of the wives of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, during the khalifate of 'Uthman ibn 'Affan, and I could touch their ceilings with my own hand."

حضرت حسن بصری رحمہ اللہ سے روایت ہے کہ میں سیدنا عثمان رضی اللہ عنہ کے دور خلافت میں نبی ﷺ کی ازواج مطہرات کے گھروں میں جاتا تھا تو بآسانی اپنے ہاتھ سے چھت کو چھو لیتا تھا۔

Hazrat Hasan Basri rehmatullah alaih se riwayat hai keh mein Sayyidna Usman (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ke daur khilafat mein Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki azwaj mut'haraat ke gharon mein jata tha to ba-asani apne hath se chhat ko chhu leta tha.

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ، قَالَ‏:‏ حَدَّثَنَا حُرَيْثُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ قَالَ‏:‏ سَمِعْتُ الْحَسَنَ يَقُولُ‏:‏ كُنْتُ أَدْخُلُ بُيُوتَ أَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي خِلاَفَةِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ فَأَتَنَاوَلُ سُقُفَهَا بِيَدِي‏.‏

Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 451

Dawud ibn Qays said, "I saw that the rooms were made from the stumps of palm trees covered on the outside with smoothed hair. I think that the width of the house from the door of the room to the door of the house was about six or seven spans. The width of the room inside was ten spans. I think that the ceiling was between seven and eight, or there about. I stopped at the door of 'A'isha, which was facing the west."

داؤد بن قیس رحمہ اللہ سے روایت ہے، انہوں نے کہا:میں نے ازواج مطہرات کے حجرے دیکھے جو کھجور کی ٹہنیوں کے تھے۔ باہر سے انہیں بالوں کے ٹاٹ سے ڈھانکا ہوا تھا۔ میرا خیال ہے کہ گھر کی چوڑائی حجرے کے دروازے سے لے کر دوسرے گھر کے دروازے تک تقریباً چھ سات ہاتھ تھی۔ اندر سے گھر کا اندازہ لگایا تو دس ہاتھ تھا۔ اس کی چھت آٹھ یا سات ہاتھ کے قریب تھی۔ اور میں حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے دروازے پر کھڑا ہوا تو میں نے دیکھا کہ وہ مغرب کی طرف تھا۔

Daud bin Qais rehmatullah alaih se riwayat hai, unhon ne kaha: mein ne azwaj mutahhirat ke hujre dekhe jo khajoor ki tehniyon ke the. Bahar se unhen baalon ke tat se dhanka hua tha. Mera khayal hai ki ghar ki chori hujre ke darwaze se le kar dusre ghar ke darwaze tak taqreeban chhe saat hath thi. Andar se ghar ka andaza lagaya to das hath tha. Is ki chhat aath ya saat hath ke qareeb thi. Aur mein Hazrat Ayesha ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) ke darwaze par khara hua to mein ne dekha ki woh maghrib ki taraf tha.

وَبِالسَّنَدِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ‏:‏ أَخْبَرَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ قَالَ‏:‏ رَأَيْتُ الْحُجُرَاتِ مِنْ جَرِيدِ النَّخْلِ مَغْشِيًّا مِنْ خَارِجٍ بِمُسُوحِ الشَّعْرِ، وَأَظُنُّ عَرْضَ الْبَيْتِ مِنْ بَابِ الْحُجْرَةِ إِلَى بَابِ الْبَيْتِ نَحْوًا مِنْ سِتِّ أَوْ سَبْعِ أَذْرُعٍ، وَأَحْزِرُ الْبَيْتَ الدَّاخِلَ عَشْرَ أَذْرُعٍ، وَأَظُنُّ سُمْكَهُ بَيْنَ الثَّمَانِ وَالسَّبْعِ نَحْوَ ذَلِكَ، وَوَقَفْتُ عِنْدَ بَابِ عَائِشَةَ فَإِذَا هُوَ مُسْتَقْبِلٌ الْمَغْرِبَ‏.‏

Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 452

'Abdullah ar-Rumi said, "I visited Umm Talq and exclaimed, 'How low the ceiling of your room is!' 'My son,' she replied, 'the Amir al-Mu'minin, 'Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, wrote to his workers telling them:"Do not make your buildings tall. That will come about in the worst of your days."'"

حضرت عبداللہ رومی رحمہ اللہ سے روایت ہے کہ میں ام طلق رحمہا اللہ کی خدمت میں حاضرا ہوا تو ان سے کہا:آپ کے اس گھر کی چھت کتنی نیچی ہے! انہوں نے کہا:اے میرے بیٹے! امیر المومنین سیدنا عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ نے اپنے وزراء کو لکھا کہ لمبی چوڑی عمارتیں مت بنانا کیونکہ یہ تمہارے بدترین دن ہوں گے۔

Hazrat Abdullah Rumi rehmatullah alaih se riwayat hai ki main Umm Talq rehmatullah alaiha ki khidmat mein hazir hua to unse kaha: Aap ke iss ghar ki chhat kitni nichi hai! Unhon ne kaha: Aye mere bete! Ameerul Momineen Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne apne wuzara ko likha ki lambi chaudi imaratein mat banana kyunki yeh tumhare badtareen din honge.

وَبِالسَّنَدِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ‏:‏ أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ الرُّومِيِّ قَالَ‏:‏ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى أُمِّ طَلْقٍ فَقُلْتُ‏:‏ مَا أَقْصَرَ سَقْفَ بَيْتِكِ هَذَا‏؟‏ قَالَتْ‏:‏ يَا بُنَيَّ إِنَّ أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ كَتَبَ إِلَى عُمَّالِهِ‏:‏ أَنْ لاَ تُطِيلُوا بِنَاءَكُمْ، فَإِنَّهُ مِنْ شَرِّ أَيَّامِكُمْ‏.‏
