The Hadith of Abdullah ibn Abi Habibah (may Allah be pleased with him)

حَدِيثُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 18951

Muhammad bin Ismail said that someone from his family asked his grandfather, Abdullah bin Abi Habibah (may Allah be pleased with him), "Which incident do you remember with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)?" He said, “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to our mosque. We and other people also came and sat near the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sat for a while, then he stood up and started praying. That day I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) praying with his shoes on.”

محمد بن اسماعیل کہتے ہیں کہ ان کے گھر والوں میں سے کسی نے ان کے نانا یعنی حضرت عبداللہ بن ابی حبیبہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے پوچھا کہ آپ نے نبی کریم ﷺ سے کون سا واقعہ یاد رکھا ہے؟ انہوں نے فرمایا کہ نبی کریم ﷺ ہماری اس مسجد میں تشریف لائے تھے ہم بھی اور دوسرے لوگ بھی نبی کریم ﷺ کے پاس آکر بیٹھ گئے کچھ دیر تک نبی کریم ﷺ بیٹھے رہے پھر کھڑے ہو کر نماز پڑھنے لگے اس دن میں نے نبی کریم ﷺ کو جوتے پہن کر نماز پڑھتے ہوئے دیکھا تھا۔

Muhammad bin Ismail kehte hain ke un ke ghar walon mein se kisi ne un ke nana yani Hazrat Abdullah bin Abi Habiba (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se pucha ke aap ne Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se kaun sa waqia yaad rakha hai? Unhon ne farmaya ke Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) hamari is masjid mein tashrif laaye the hum bhi aur dusre log bhi Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke paas aakar baith gaye kuch der tak Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) baithe rahe phir khade ho kar namaz padhne lage us din mein ne Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko joote pehan kar namaz padhte huye dekha tha.

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قال: عبد الله بن أحمد: وَكَتَبَ بِهِ إِلَيَّ قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا مُجَمِّعُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مُجَمِّعٍ ، قَالَ: قِيلَ لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبَةَ : مَا أَدْرَكْتَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ وَقَدْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدِمَ وَهُوَ غُلَامٌ حَدِيثٌ، قَالَ:" جَاءَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمًا إِلَى مَسْجِدِنَا يَعْنِي مَسْجِدَ قُبَاءَ، قَالَ: فَجِئْنَا، فَجَلَسْنَا إِلَيْهِ، وَجَلَسَ إِلَيْهِ النَّاسُ، قَالَ فَجَلَسَ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ يَجْلِسَ، ثُمَّ قَامَ يُصَلِّي، فَرَأَيْتُهُ يُصَلِّي فِي نَعْلَيْهِ" .

A slave of the people of Quba, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated: Once, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, came to us in Quba and sat in the courtyard without any cushions. People started to gather around him. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, asked for water and drank it. I was the youngest of them all at that time and was sitting to the right of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. So, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, gave me his leftover water, which I drank. I also remember that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, had his shoes on while leading the prayer that day, then he took them off.

اہل قباء کے غلام صحابی رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی کریم ﷺ ہمارے پاس قباء میں تشریف لائے اور کنگروں کے بغیر صحن میں بیٹھ گئے لوگ بھی جمع ہونے لگے نبی کریم ﷺ نے پانی منگوا کر نوش فرمایا میں اس وقت سب سے چھوٹا اور آپ ﷺ کی دائیں جانب تھا لہٰذا نبی کریم ﷺ نے اپنا پس خوردہ مجھے عطاء فرمادیا جسے میں نے پی لیا مجھے یہ بھی یاد ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے اس نے دن ہمیں جو نماز پڑھائی تھی اس میں آپ ﷺ نے جوتے پہن رکھے تھے انہیں اتار انہیں تھا۔

Ahl e Quba ke ghulam sahabi razi Allah anhu se marvi hai ke ek martaba Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) humare pass Quba mein tashreef laaye aur kangaroo ke baghair sahan mein baith gaye log bhi jama hone lage Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne pani mangwa kar nosh farmaya mein us waqt sabse chhota aur aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki dayen janib tha lihaza Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne apna pas khurda mujhe ataa farmaya jise maine pee liya mujhe ye bhi yaad hai ke Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne usne din humein jo namaz parhayi thi usme aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne joote pehne rakhe the unhein utar diya tha.

حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْعَطَّافُ ، حَدَّثَنِي مُجَمِّعُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ، عَنْ غُلَامٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ قُبَاءَ، أَنَّهُ أَدْرَكَهُ شَيْخًا، قَالَ:" جَاءَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِقُبَاءَ، فَجَلَسَ فِي فِنَاءِ الَأُجُمِ، وَاجْتَمَعَ إِلَيْهِ نَاسٌ، فَاسْتَسْقَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسُقِيَ، فَشَرِبَ وَأَنَا عَنْ يَمِينِهِ، وَأَنَا أَحْدَثُ الْقَوْمِ، فَنَاوَلَنِي، فَشَرِبْتُ، وَحَفِظْتُ أَنَّهُ صَلَّى بِنَا يَوْمَئِذٍ وَعَلَيْهِ نَعْلَاَهِ لَمْ يَنْزِعْهُمَا" .

It is narrated on the authority of Abdullah bin Abdur Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to us and led us in prayer in the mosque of Banu Abdil Ashhal. I saw the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) when he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went into prostration, he placed his hands inside his garment (sheet).

حضرت عبداللہ بن عبدالرحمن رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی کریم ﷺ ہمارے یہاں تشریف لائے اور بنو عبدالاشہل کی مسجد میں ہمیں نماز پڑھائی میں نے نبی کریم ﷺ کو دیکھا ہے کہ جب آپ ﷺ سجدے میں گئے تو اپنے ہاتھ کپڑے (چادر) کے اندر کرلیے۔

Hazrat Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki ek martaba Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) humare yahan tashreef laaye aur Banu Abde Alashal ki masjid mein humain namaz parhayi maine Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko dekha hai ki jab Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) Sajde mein gaye to apne hath kapde (chadar) ke andar karliye.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ، وسَمِعْتُهُ أَنَا مِنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدَّرَاوَرْدِيُّ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبَةَ , عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، قَالَ:" جَاءَنَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَصَلَّى بِنَا فِي مَسْجِدِ بَنِي عَبْدِ الْأَشْهَلِ، فَرَأَيْتُهُ وَاضِعًا يَدَهُ فِي ثَوْبِهِ إِذَا سَجَدَ" .
