Hadith of the Bedouin, from the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace)

حَدِيثُ الْأَعْرَابِيِّ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 20056

It is narrated by a villager companion, may Allah be pleased with him, that he saw the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, offering prayer. When the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, raised his head from bowing (ruku), he raised both his hands to the level of his ears, as if they were two fans.

ایک دیہاتی صحابی رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ میں نے نبی ﷺ کو نماز پڑھتے ہوئے دیکھا ہے، نبی ﷺ نے رکوع سے سر اٹھایا تو اپنے دونوں ہاتھ کانوں کی لو تک بلند کئے، گویا کہ وہ دو پنکھے ہوں۔

aik dehati sahabi razi Allah anhu se marvi hai keh maine nabi sali Allah alaihi wasallam ko namaz parhte huye dekha hai, nabi sali Allah alaihi wasallam ne rukoo se sar uthaya to apne donon hath kaanon ki lou tak buland kiye, goya keh woh do pankhe hon.

حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ , وَبَهْزٌ , قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي مَنْ سَمِعَ الْأَعْرَابِيَّ , قَالَ:" رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي، قَالَ: فَرَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ، فَرَفَعَ كَفَّيْهِ حَتَّى حَاذَتَا أَوْ بَلَغَتَا فُرُوعَ أُذُنَيْهِ كَأَنَّهُمَا مِرْوَحَتَانِ" .

A villager from the companions (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that once I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) praying, and he was wearing shoes made of cowhide. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) spat towards his left and wiped that place with his shoe.


Grade: Hasan

ایک دیہاتی صحابی رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ میں نے ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ کو نماز پڑھتے ہوئے دیکھا تو آپ ﷺ نے گائے کی کھال کے جوتے پہن رکھے تھے، پھر آپ ﷺ نے بائیں جانب تھوکا اور اس جگہ کو اپنی جوتی سے مسل دیا۔

Ek dehati sahabi razi Allah anhu se marvi hai ki maine ek martaba Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko namaz parhte hue dekha to aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne gaye ki khal ke joote pehan rakhe thay, phir aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne bayen janib thooka aur is jagah ko apni jooti se masal diya.

حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ , وَبَهْزٌ , قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ ، قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنِي مَنْ سَمِعَ الْأَعْرَابِيَّ , قَالَ:" رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي وَعَلَيْهِ نَعْلَانِ مِنْ بَقَرٍ، قَالَ: فَتَفَلَ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ، ثُمَّ حَكَّ حَيْثُ تَفَلَ بِنَعْلِهِ" .

Mutraf bin Shikhar narrates that a villager companion, may Allah be pleased with him, told us that he had seen the sandals of your Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, made of leather.


Grade: Sahih

مطرف بن شخیر کہتے ہیں کہ ہمیں ایک دیہاتی صحابی رضی اللہ عنہ نے بتایا کہ میں نے تمہارے نبی ﷺ کے جوتے چمڑے کے دیکھے ہیں۔

Mutraf bin Shakhir kehte hain ki hamen ek dehati sahabi razi Allah anhu ne bataya ki maine tumhare nabi sali Allah alaihi wasallam ke joote chamere ke dekhe hain.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَعْرَابِيٌّ لَنَا, قَالَ: " رَأَيْتُ نَعْلَ نَبِيِّكُمْ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَخْصُوفَةً" .
