Ibn Zaghba Iyali says that once Abdullah bin Hawala was my guest. On one occasion, he said that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent us with an infantry unit around Madinah to obtain spoils of war. But when we returned, we could not find any spoils of war, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) noticed signs of hardship on our faces. He stood among us and said, "O Allah! Do not hand them over to other people so that they may dominate them." Then he said, "Soon, Syria, Rome and Persia will be conquered at your hands to the extent that each one of you will have so many camels, cows and goats that even if someone is given a hundred dinars, he will become angry." Then the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) placed his hand on my head and said, "O Ibn Hawala! When you see that the caliphate has reached the Holy Land, then understand that earthquakes, calamities and great matters are near, and at that time the Day of Judgment will be as near to the people as my hand is to your head, or even nearer."

ابن زغب ایادی کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ حضرت عبداللہ بن حوالہ میرے یہاں مہمان بن کر تشریف لائے اسی دوران انہوں نے ایک موقع پر فرمایا کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے ہمیں مدینہ منورہ کے آس پاس پیدل دستے کے ساتھ روانہ فرمایا تاکہ ہمیں مال غنیمت حاصل ہو لیکن ہم واپس آئے تو کچھ بھی مال غنیمت ہمیں نہ مل سکا تھا اور ہمارے چہروں پر مشقت کے آثار نبی کریم ﷺ نے محسوس فرما لئے تھے اس لئے ہمارے درمیان کھڑے ہو کر فرمایا اے اللہ! انہیں دوسرے لوگوں کے حوالے نہ فرما کہ وہ ان پر غالب آجائیں پھر فرمایا عنقریب تمہارے ہاتھوں شام، روم اور فارس فتح ہوجائیں گے حتی کہ تم میں سے ایک ایک آدمی کے پاس اتنے اتنے اونٹ گائیں اور بکریاں ہوں گی یہاں تک کہ اگر کسی کو سو دینار بھی دیئے جائیں گے تو وہ ناراض ہوجائے گا، پھر نبی کریم ﷺ نے میرے سر پر ہاتھ رکھ کر فرمایا اے ابن حوالہ! جب تم دیکھو کہ خلافت ارض مقدس میں پہنچ گئی ہے تو سمجھ لو کہ زلزلے مصبتیں اور بڑے بڑے امور قریب آگئے ہیں اور اس وقت قیامت لوگوں کے اتنے قریب آجائے گی جیسے میرا یہ ہاتھ تمہارے سر کے قریب ہے اس سے بھی زیادہ ہوگی۔
Ibne Zaghba Ayadi kahte hain ke aik martaba Hazrat Abdullah bin Hawala mere yahan mehman bankar tashreef laaye usi dauran unhon ne aik mauqe par farmaya ke aik martaba Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne hamen Madina Munawwara ke aas paas paidal daste ke sath rawana farmaya taake hamen maal ghanimat hasil ho lekin hum wapas aaye to kuchh bhi maal ghanimat hamen na mil saka tha aur hamare chehron par mushqat ke asar Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne mehsoos farmaya the is liye hamare darmiyan kharay hokar farmaya aye Allah! inhen doosre logon ke hawale na farma ke woh un par ghalib aajayen phir farmaya anqareeb tumhare hathon Sham, Room aur Faris fatah hojaye ge hatta ke tum mein se aik aik aadmi ke paas itne itne oont gayen aur bakriyan hongi yahan tak ke agar kisi ko sau dinar bhi diye jayenge to woh naraz hojaye ga, phir Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne mere sar par hath rakh kar farmaya aye Ibne Hawala! jab tum dekho ke khilafat arz muqaddas mein pahunch gayi hai to samajh lo ke zalzale musibaten aur bare bare umoor qareeb aa gaye hain aur us waqt qayamat logon ke itne qareeb aajaye gi jaise mera yeh hath tumhare sar ke qareeb hai is se bhi zyada hogi.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ ، عَنْ ضَمْرَةَ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ زُغْبٍ الْإِيَادِيّ حَدَّثَهُ، قَالَ: نَزَلَ عَلَيَّ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ حَوَالَةَ الْأَزْدِيُّ ، فَقَالَ لِي: وَإِنَّهُ لَنَازِلٌ عَلَيَّ فِي بَيْتِي بَعَثَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَوْلَ الْمَدِينَةِ عَلَى أَقْدَامِنَا لِنَغْنَمَ، فَرَجَعْنَا وَلَمْ نَغْنَمْ شَيْئًا، وَعَرَفَ الْجَهْدَ فِي وُجُوهِنَا، فَقَامَ فِينَا، فَقَالَ: " اللَّهُمَّ لَا تَكِلْهُمْ إِلَيَّ فَأَضْعُفَ، وَلَا تَكِلْهُمْ إِلَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ فَيَعْجِزُوا عَنْهَا، وَلَا تَكِلْهُمْ إِلَى النَّاسِ فَيَسْتَأْثِرُوا عَلَيْهِمْ" , ثُمَّ قَالَ:" لَيُفْتَحَنَّ لَكُمْ الشَّامُ , وَالرُّومُ , وَفَارِسُ، أَوْ الرُّومُ , وَفَارِسُ حَتَّى يَكُونَ لِأَحَدِكُمْ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ كَذَا وَكَذَا، وَمِنْ الْبَقَرِ كَذَا وَكَذَا، وَمِنْ الْغَنَمِ، حَتَّى يُعْطَى أَحَدُهُمْ مِائَةَ دِينَارٍ فَيَسْخَطَهَا" , ثُمَّ وَضَعَ يَدَهُ عَلَى رَأْسِي أَوْ هَامَتِي، فَقَالَ:" يَا ابْنَ حَوَالَةَ، إِذَا رَأَيْتَ الْخِلَافَةَ قَدْ نَزَلَتْ الْأَرْضَ الْمُقَدَّسَةَ، فَقَدْ دَنَتْ الزَّلَازِلُ وَالْبَلَايَا وَالْأُمُورُ الْعِظَامُ، وَالسَّاعَةُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَقْرَبُ إِلَى النَّاسِ مِنْ يَدَيَّ هَذِهِ مِنْ رَأْسِكَ" .
