Hadith of Malik ibn Abdullah Al-Khath'ami (may Allah be pleased with him)

حَدِيثُ مَالِكِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْخَثْعَمِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 21961

It is narrated on the authority of Malik bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I participated in Jihad with the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). I have never prayed behind any Imam who offered the prayer lighter, yet more complete in terms of bowing and prostrating, than the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

حضرت مالک بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ میں نے نبی کریم ﷺ کے ساتھ جہاد میں شرکت کی ہے میں نے نبی کریم ﷺ سے زیادہ ہلکی لیکن مکمل رکوع و سجود والی نماز کسی امام کے پیچھے نہیں پڑھی۔

Hazrat Malik bin Abdullah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai keh maine Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke sath jihad mein shirkat ki hai maine Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se ziada halki lekin mukammal ruku o sijdah wali namaz kisi imam ke peeche nahi parhi.

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ وَهُوَ أَبُو إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْمُعَقِّبُ , حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُعَاوِيَةَ الْفَزَارِيَّ , حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ الْأَسَدِيُّ , عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بِشْرٍ الْخُزَاعِيِّ , عَنْ خَالِهِ مَالِكِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , قَالَ:" غَزَوْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَمْ أُصَلِّ خَلْفَ إِمَامٍ كَانَ أَوْجَزَ مِنْهُ صَلَاةً فِي تَمَامِ الرُّكُوعِ , وَالسُّجُودِ" .

Abu Misbah Awza'i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Once we were walking in a place called "Darb Qalamiyyah" when a man called out to our leader, Malik bin Abdullah al-Khath'ami (may Allah be pleased with him), who was driving his horse through a mountain pass, "O Abu Abdullah! Why don't you ride?" He said, "I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say, 'Whoever's feet become covered in dust in the cause of Allah, even for a moment of the day, the fire of Hell will be forbidden for them.'"

ابو مصبح اوزاعی رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ ہم لوگ " درب قلمیہ " نامی جگہ میں چل رہے تھے کہ ہمارے امیر حضرت مالک بن عبداللہ خثعمی رضی اللہ عنہ کو ایک آدمی نے پکارا " جو پہاڑ کی چوڑائی میں اپنے گھوڑے کو ہانکتے ہوئے لئے جا رہے تھے کہ اے ابو عبداللہ! آپ سوار کیوں نہیں ہوجاتے؟ انہوں نے فرمایا کہ میں نے نبی کریم ﷺ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے جس شخص کے پاؤں دن کے ایک لمحے کے لئے بھی اللہ کے راستہ میں غبار آلود ہوجائیں، وہ دونوں جہنم کی آگ پر حرام ہوجاتے ہیں۔

Abu Musbah Ozayi rehmatullah alaih kehte hain ke ek martaba hum log "Darb Qalmiyah" nami jaga mein chal rahe the ke humare ameer Hazrat Malik bin Abdullah Khasami razi Allah tala anhu ko ek aadmi ne pukara "jo pahar ki chori mein apne ghore ko hankte hue liye ja rahe the ke aye Abu Abdullah! Aap sawar kyun nahi ho jate? Unhon ne farmaya ke maine Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko ye farmate hue suna hai jis shakhs ke paon din ke ek lamhe ke liye bhi Allah ke raste mein gubar aalud ho jayen, wo dono jahannam ki aag par haram ho jate hain.

حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ , حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جَابِرٍ , أَنَّ أَبَا الْمُصَبِّحِ الْأَوْزَاعِيَّ حَدَّثَهُمْ , قَالَ: بَيْنَا نَسِيرُ فِي دَرْبِ قَلَمْيَةَ , إِذْ نَادَى الْأَمِيرَ مَالِكَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْخَثْعَمِيَّ رَجُلٌ يَقُودُ فَرَسَهُ فِي عِرَاضِ الْجَبَلِ: يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , أَلَا تَرْكَبُ؟ قَالَ: إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " مَنْ اغْبَرَّتْ قَدَمَاهُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ سَاعَةً مِنْ نَهَارٍ , فَهُمَا حَرَامٌ عَلَى النَّارِ" .

It is narrated on the authority of Malik bin Abdullah Khathami (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever’s feet become covered in dust, even for a moment of the day, in the path of Allah, Allah will make the fire of Hell forbidden for him.”

حضرت مالک بن عبداللہ خثعمی رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا جس شخص کے پاؤں دن کے ایک لمحے کے لئے بھی اللہ کے راستہ میں غبار آلود ہوجائیں، اللہ اس پر جہنم کی آگ کو حرام کردیتا ہے۔

Hazrat Malik bin Abdullah Khathami (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya jis shakhs ke paon din ke ek lamhe ke liye bhi Allah ke raaste mein ghubar aalud hojaen, Allah us par jahannum ki aag ko haram kar deta hai.

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ , حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الشُّعَيْثِيُّ , عَنْ لَيْثِ بْنِ الْمُتَوَكِّلِ , عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْخَثْعَمِيِّ , قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَنْ اغْبَرَّتْ قَدَمَاهُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ , حَرَّمَهُ اللَّهُ عَلَى النَّارِ" .

It is narrated on the authority of Malik bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I participated in Jihad with the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ , حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ , حَدَّثَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ الْخُزَاعِيُّ , عَنْ خَالِهِ مَالِكِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , قَالَ:" غَزَوْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَمَا صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ إِمَامٍ يَؤُمُّ النَّاسَ أَخَفَّ صَلَاةً مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ" .
