Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 10060

It is narrated on the authority of the preceding tradition that I heard Abu'l-Qasim (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: Observe fast on sighting the crescent-moon and celebrate `Id on sighting it, but if you are unable to see it because of clouds, then complete the count of thirty.

گزشتہ سند ہی سے مروی ہے کہ میں نے ابوالقاسم ﷺ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ چاند کو دیکھ کر روزہ رکھا کرو، چاند کو دیکھ کر عید منایا کرو اگر چاند نظر نہ آئے اور آسمان پر ابر چھایاہو تو تیس کی گنتی پوری کیا کرو۔

Guzishta sanad hi se marvi hai ke maine Abu al Qasim Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam ko ye farmate huye suna hai ke chand ko dekh kar roza rakha karo, chand ko dekh kar Eid manaya karo agar chand nazar na aaye aur aasman par abbr chaya ho to tees ki ginti poori kya karo.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، قََالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، قََالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ , سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " صُومُوا لِرُؤْيَتِهِ، وَأَفْطِرُوا لِرُؤْيَتِهِ، فَإِنْ غُمَّ عَلَيْكُمْ فَعُدُّوا ثَلَاثِينَ" .
