Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 14160
It is narrated by Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was passing by the ruins of the people of Thamud, he said, "Do not ask for miracles, for the people of Salih (peace be upon him) also demanded one." (Upon which, Allah sent them a she-camel according to their request). "She used to come from this way and go out from this way, but the people of Thamud disobeyed the command of their Lord and cut off its feet, even though the she-camel would drink water one day and they would drink its milk another day. But when they cut off its feet, a celestial scream seized them, and no one survived under the shadow of the sky except the man who was in the Sacred Mosque." Someone asked, "O Messenger of Allah, who was he?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "He was Abu Righal. When he came out of the Sanctuary, the same punishment that befell his people overtook him."

سیدنا جابر رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ کا گزر قوم ثمود کے کھنڈرات پر ہوا تو فرمایا کہ معجزات کا سوال نہ کیا کر و کیونکہ قوم صالح نے بھی اس کا مطالبہ کیا تھا (جس پر اللہ نے ایک اونٹنی ان کی فرمائش کے مطابق بھیج دی) وہ اونٹنی اس راستے سے آتی تھی اور اس راستے سے نکل جاتی تھی لیکن قوم ثمود نے اپنے رب کے حکم کی نافرمانی کی اور اس کے پاؤں کاٹ ڈالے حالانکہ وہ اونٹنی ایک دن کا پانی پیتی تھی اور ایک دن وہ اس کا دودھ پیتے تھے لیکن جب انہوں نے اس کے پاؤں کاٹے تو ایک آسمانی چیخ نے انہیں پکڑا اور آسمان کے سائے تلے ایک شخص بھی زندہ نہ بچا سوائے اس آدمی کے جو حرم شریف میں تھا کسی نے پوچھا: یارسول اللہ ﷺ وہ کون تھا؟ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا کہ وہ " ابو رغال " تھا جب وہ حرم سے نکلا تو اسے بھی اسی عذاب نے آپکڑا جو اس کی قوم پر آیا تھا۔
Sayyidna Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki ek martaba Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ka guzar qaum samood ke khandarat par hua to farmaya ki mozijat ka sawal na kiya karo kyunki qaum saleh ne bhi iska mutalba kiya tha (jis par Allah ne ek untni unki farmaish ke mutabiq bhej di) woh untni is raste se aati thi aur is raste se nikal jati thi lekin qaum samood ne apne rab ke hukm ki nafarmani ki aur iske pair kaat dale halanki woh untni ek din ka pani piti thi aur ek din woh iska doodh pite the lekin jab unhone iske pair kate to ek aasmani cheekh ne unhen pakda aur asman ke saye tale ek shakhs bhi zinda na bacha siwaye us aadmi ke jo haram sharif mein tha kisi ne pucha Ya Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) woh kaun tha Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya ki woh "Abu Reghal" tha jab woh haram se nikla to use bhi usi azab ne aa pakda jo uski qaum par aaya tha.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ: لَمَّا مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْحِجْرِ، قَالَ:" لَا تَسْأَلُوا الْآيَاتِ، وَقَدْ سَأَلَهَا قَوْمُ صَالِحٍ فَكَانَتْ تَرِدُ مِنْ هَذَا الْفَجِّ، وَتَصْدُرُ مِنْ هَذَا الْفَجِّ، فَعَتَوْا عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ فَعَقَرُوهَا، وكَانَتْ تَشْرَبُ مَاءَهُمْ يَوْمًا، وَيَشْرَبُونَ لَبَنَهَا يَوْمًا، فَعَقَرُوهَا، فَأَخَذَتْهُمْ صَيْحَةٌ أَهْمَدَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مَنْ تَحْتَ أَدِيمِ السَّمَاءِ مِنْهُمْ، إِلَّا رَجُلًا وَاحِدًا كَانَ فِي حَرَمِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ"، قِيلَ: مَن هُوَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ:" هُوَ أَبُو رِغَالٍ، فَلَمَّا خَرَجَ مِنَ الْحَرَمِ، أَصَابَهُ مَا أَصَابَ قَوْمَهُ".
