Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 14750
Abu Zubair asked Sayyidina Jabir, may Allah be pleased with him, about the issue of tasbih (saying Subhanallah) and tasfiq (clapping). He replied, "I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saying that the command of saying 'Subhanallah' in prayer is for men, and the command of clapping softly is for women."

ابوالزبیر نے سیدنا جابر رضی اللہ عنہ سے تسبیح اور تصفیق کا مسئلہ پوچھا: تو انہوں نے جواب دیا کہ میں نے نبی ﷺ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ نماز میں سبحان اللہ کہنے کا حکم مردوں کے لئے ہے اور ہلکی آواز میں تالی بجانے کا حکم خواتین کے لئے ہے۔
Abualzbair ne Sayyidna Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se tasbeeh aur tasfeeq ka masla poocha: to unhon ne jawab diya keh maine Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko ye farmate huye suna hai keh namaz mein subhan Allah kehne ka hukum mardon ke liye hai aur halki aawaz mein taali bajane ka hukum khawateen ke liye hai.
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ جَابِرًا عَنِ التَّصْفِيقِ وَالتَّسْبِيحِ، قَالَ جَابِرٌ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ:" التَّصْفِيقُ لِلنِّسَاءِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ، وَالتَّسْبِيحُ لِلرِّجَالِ".
