Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 14759
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) led us in prayer in Madinah Munawwarah on the tenth of Dhul-Hijjah. Some people had already performed their sacrifice, thinking that perhaps the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had already sacrificed. When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to know about this, he ordered that whoever had sacrificed before should sacrifice again and that no one should sacrifice before the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had sacrificed.

سیدنا جابر رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ نے مدینہ منورہ میں ہمیں دس ذالحجہ کو نماز پڑھائی کچھ لوگوں نے پہلے ہی قربانی کر لی اور وہ یہ سمجھے کہ شاید نبی ﷺ قربانی کر چکے ہیں نبی ﷺ کو معلوم ہوا تو آپ نے حکم دیا کہ جس نے پہلے قربانی کر لی ہے وہ دوبارہ قربانی کر ے اور یہ کہ نبی ﷺ کے قربانی کرنے سے پہلے قربانی نہ کیا کر یں۔
Sayyidna Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki ek martaba Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne Madina Munawwara mein hamein Dus Zalhijja ko namaz parhayi kuchh logon ne pehle hi qurbani kar li aur wo ye samjhe ki shayad Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) qurbani kar chuke hain Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko maloom hua to aap ne hukm diya ki jisne pehle qurbani kar li hai wo dobara qurbani kare aur ye ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke qurbani karne se pehle qurbani na kiya karen.
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى ، وَحَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ جَابِرًا عَنِ النَّحْرِ، فَقَالَ جَابِرٌ :" صَلَّى بِنَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ بِالْمَدِينَةِ، فَتَقَدَّمَ رِجَالٌ فَنَحَرُوا، وَظَنُّوا أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ نَحَرَ، فَأَمَرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ كَانَ نَحَرَ، أَنْ يُعِيدَ نَحْرًا آخَرَ، وَلَا يَنْحَرُوا حَتَّى يَنْحَرَ".
