Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 15131
Asim bin 'Ubaidullah said: One time I went to visit Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him). When the time for prayer came, he prayed wrapped in a single garment, even though other clothes were lying nearby on a bed. When he finished the prayer, he said, "I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) praying in this very manner."

عاصم بن عبیداللہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ میں سیدنا جابر رضی اللہ عنہ کے یہاں گیا نماز کا وقت ہوا تو وہ ایک کپڑے میں لپٹ کر نماز پڑھ رہے تھے حالانکہ دوسرے کپڑے ان کے قریب ہی چار پائی پر پڑے تھے جب انہوں نے سلام پھیرا تو انہوں نے فرمایا کہ میں نے نبی ﷺ کو بھی اسی طرح نماز پڑھتے ہوئے دیکھا ہے۔
Asim bin Ubaidullah kahte hain ki aik martaba main Sayyidna Jaber (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ke yahan gaya namaz ka waqt hua to wo aik kapre mein lipat kar namaz parh rahe the halanki dusre kapre unke qareeb hi charpai par pare the jab unhon ne salam phera to unhon ne farmaya ki maine Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko bhi isi tarah namaz parhte huye dekha hai
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُطَرِّفٍ , عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ , قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَى جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , فَحَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ , وَثِيَابٌ لَهُ عَلَى السَّرِيرِ , أَوِ الْمِشْجَبِ ," فَقَامَ مُتَوَشِّحًا بِثَوْبِهِ , ثُمَّ صَلَّى" , ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُمْ حِينَ انْصَرَفَ: رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى هَكَذَا.
