Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 1522
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) bestowed wealth and riches upon some people. However, he did not give anything to one particular man among them. Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted: "O Prophet of Allah! You gave to so-and-so, but you did not give anything to so-and-so, even though he is a true believer." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Is he not a Muslim?" This question and answer were repeated three times. Then, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "I give to some people and leave out those who are more beloved to me, and I do not give them anything out of fear and concern that they may be dragged on their faces into Hell."

سیدنا سعد رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ نے کچھ لوگوں کو مال و دولت عطاء فرمایا، لیکن ان ہی میں سے ایک آدمی کو کچھ نہیں دیا، سیدنا سعد رضی اللہ عنہ نے عرض کیا: اے اللہ کے نبی! آپ نے فلاں فلاں کو تو دے دیا، لیکن فلاں شخص کو کچھ بھی نہیں دیا، حالانکہ وہ پکا مومن بھی ہے، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”مسلمان نہیں؟“ یہ سوال جواب تین مرتبہ ہوئے، پھر نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”میں کچھ لوگوں کو دے دیتا ہوں اور ان لوگوں کو چھوڑ دیتا ہوں جو مجھے زیادہ محبوب ہوتے ہیں، اور انہیں کچھ نہیں دیتا اس خوف اور اندیشے کی بناء پر کہ کہیں انہیں ان کے چہروں کے بل گھسیٹ کر جہنم میں نہ ڈال دیا جائے۔“
Sayyidana Saad (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki ek martaba Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne kuch logon ko maal o daulat ata farmaaya, lekin in hi mein se ek aadmi ko kuch nahi diya, Sayyidana Saad (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne arz kiya: Aye Allah ke Nabi! Aap ne falan falan ko to de diya, lekin falan shakhs ko kuch bhi nahi diya, halanki woh pakka momin bhi hai, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaaya: "Musalman nahi?" Yeh sawal jawab teen martaba huye, phir Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaaya: "Main kuch logon ko de deta hun aur un logon ko chhod deta hun jo mujhe zyada mahboob hain, aur unhen kuch nahi deta is khauf aur andaishe ki bina par ki kahin unhen un ke chehron ke bal ghaseet kar jahannam mein na daal diya jaye."
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَنْبَأَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , قَالَ: أَعْطَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رِجَالًا وَلَمْ يُعْطِ رَجُلًا مِنْهُمْ شَيْئًا، فَقَالَ سَعْدٌ: يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ، أَعْطَيْتَ فُلَانًا وَفُلَانًا، وَلَمْ تُعْطِ فُلَانًا شَيْئًا، وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" أَوْ مُسْلِمٌ"، حَتَّى أَعَادَهَا سَعْدٌ ثَلَاثًا، وَالنَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ:" أَوْ مُسْلِمٌ"، ثُمَّ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" إِنِّي لَأُعْطِي رِجَالًا، وَأَدَعُ مَنْ هُوَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْهُمْ، فَلَا أُعْطِيهِ شَيْئًا، مَخَافَةَ أَنْ يُكَبُّوا فِي النَّارِ عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمْ".
