Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 16332
Narrated by Sayyidina Umar bin Abi Salmah: Once, food was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to me, "O Umar, mention the name of Allah, eat with your right hand, and eat from what is in front of you." After that, it always remained my habit while eating. Before that, my hand would keep moving all around the plate.

سیدنا عمر بن ابی سلمہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں کھانا لایا گیا نبی ﷺ نے مجھ سے فرمایا کہ عمر اللہ کا نام لو دائیں ہاتھ سے کھاؤ اور اپنے سامنے سے کھاؤ اس کے بعد ہمیشہ میرا کھانے کے وقت یہی معمول رہا۔ اس سے پہلے میرا ہاتھ برتن میں گھومتا رہتا تھا۔
Sayyidna Umar bin Abi Salama se marvi hai ki ek martaba Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki khidmat mein khana laya gaya. Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne mujhse farmaya ki Umar Allah ka naam lo dayen haath se khao aur apne samne se khao. Isske baad hamesha mera khanay ke waqt yahi mamul raha. Isse pehle mera haath bartan mein ghoomta rehta tha.
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ وَهْبِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَ: قَالَ لِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" يَا غُلَامُ، سَمِّ اللَّهَ، وَكُلْ بِيَمِينِكَ، وَكُلْ مِمَّا يَلِيكَ" فَلَمْ تَزَلْ تِلْكَ طُعْمَتِي بَعْدُ، وَكَانَتْ يَدِي تَطِيشُ.
