Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 18156
It is narrated on the authority of Mughirah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I saw the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performing masah (wiping) over his socks. The previous hadith is also narrated from this second chain of narration.

حضرت مغیرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ میں نے نبی کریم ﷺ کو موزوں پر مسح کرتے ہوئے دیکھا ہے۔ گزشتہ حدیث اس دوسری سند سے بھی مروی ہے۔

حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، قَالَ: قَالَ الْمُغِيرَةُ : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَمْسَحُ عَلَى ظُهُورِ الْخُفَّيْن" . قال عبد الله: قال أبي: حَدَّثَنَاه سُرَيْجٌ ، والْهَاشِمِيُّ أَيْضًا.
