Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 1822
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Fazl (may Allah be pleased with him) that a woman from the tribe of Khath'am came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! The obligation of Allah has become due upon my father in the matter of Hajj, but he has become so old that he cannot even sit on a mount?". The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Perform Hajj on his behalf."

سیدنا فضل رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ قبیلہ خثعم کی ایک عورت نبی ﷺ کے پاس آئی اور کہنے لگی: یا رسول اللہ! حج کے معاملے میں میرے والد پر اللہ کا فریضہ عائد ہو چکا ہے لیکن وہ اتنے بوڑھے ہو چکے ہیں کہ سواری پر بھی نہیں بیٹھ سکتے؟ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”ان کی طرف سے تم حج کر لو۔“
Sayyidina Fazl Raziallahu Anhu se marvi hai ki qabila Khatham ki ek aurat Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke pass aayi aur kehne lagi: Ya Rasulullah! Hajj ke mamle mein mere walid par Allah ka fariza aaid ho chuka hai lekin woh itne buddhe ho chuke hain ki sawari par bhi nahin baith sakte? Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: ”Un ki taraf se tum Hajj kar lo.”
حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنِ الْفَضْلِ ، أَنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنْ خَثْعَمٍ , قَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , إِنَّ أَبِي أَدْرَكَتْهُ فَرِيضَةُ اللَّهِ فِي الْحَجِّ، وَهُوَ شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ , لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَسْتَوِيَ عَلَى ظَهْرِ بَعِيرِهِ، قَالَ:" فَحُجِّي عَنْهُ".
