Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 18436
Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Supplication is the essence of worship." Then the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) recited this verse: "Call upon Me, I will respond to you."

حضرت نعمان رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا دعاء ہی اصل عبادت ہے پھر نبی کریم ﷺ نے یہ آیت تلاوت فرمائی " مجھ سے دعاء مانگو، میں تمہاری دعاء قبول کروں گا
Hazrat Noman (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ke Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya dua hi asl ibadat hai phir Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne yeh ayat tilawat farmae mujh se dua maango main tumhari dua qubool karunga
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، وَالْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ ذَرٍّ ، عَنْ يُسَيْعٍ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ وَيَقُولُ:" إِنَّ الدُّعَاءَ هُوَ الْعِبَادَةُ"، ثُمَّ قَرَأَ: وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمُ ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ سورة غافر آية 60" ..
